If true and IF illegal.
Then this is one thing that sickens me as to politicians.

I just can never understand across politics, how any MP cannot see what is at least morally wrong in such dealings.

Even moreso, those who seek to be Ministers.
Any intent to deceive, any deceit or any immoral or dubious dealings should exclude anyone from high office.

I know MPs are held in low esteem, if even in any esteem.
However many just try to do their jobs, follow their conscience as best they can and work for their constituents.

This, if true and deemed wrong in any possible investigation, brings politics into more disrepute.

However, asking Barry Gardiner about this is likely to result in at least a 2 week rambling from him as he goes off on other issues.

On the surface although I see it's the Torygraph again.
This stinks, if it's as reported.

A second home is necessary for MPs who don't live in London really (temporary accommodation costs I.e. Hotels would be through the roof) however, surely the simple solution to these scandals, is for the government itself to buy and maintain the properties for MPs? Like council housing for MPs in London I suppose. They could then be passed on, or if they are to be sold, the money goes back into the pot for future accommodation.

They could Air BnB them when the MP's are off on their annual leave, make a fortune :joker:.

Not uncommon.
They get help as it’s a second home, needed for the job so to speak.
My problem with this is when they live within spitting distance and still do it.
Maybe when they renovate the HP they can use some of the wasted space as dorms for overnight stays or some sort of bedsits.

Sounds like someone that is corrupt enough to take up a position in a future government
