Does hindsight put a different spin on how badly written she was in her final year or was she really that much of a miserable bitch?

I hated her for much longer than a year so I don't think it's just bad writing

If you watch the earlier series on Drama she was nowhere near that bad.

They wrote her into a villain because she told them she would quit if they had Pauline get remarried

Just look at Michelles face...

Pauline's downfall doesn't bother me as such knowing Wendy Richards died a few years after anyway.

And I don't really think Pauline's death had as much as an impact as intended. It hasn't changed the force of the show.

No. Everyone knew how badly written she was back then. It's pretty much the reason Wendy Richard quit.

EE get major exits wrong about 80% of the time. Her death turned into a whodunnit and she was killed by a frying pan. :skull:

Joe Macer had his moments still. He could’ve been a good long-term character.

I just took it as her turning into her mother to be honest. A miserable old cow.

But its a Character
that worked.
