Why do they make veggie and vegan food look like meat? I don't understand... we often miss meat out of a meal because there is just so much choice of vegetarian food now. But making stuff that looks like meat sounds really unappetising.

Like a burger? I mean a burger doesn't look like a cow, it's just made into that shape because it fits into a bun better. As for meat substitute tasting food, meat tastes good so why not? I don't not eat meat because I don't like the taste of it

Fair enough. It is unappetising to me. And there are so many other meat-free burger style things around. I eat meat, obviously, but we have both cut down and eat meat free meals more than a couple of times a week. And I only buy high welfare meat, a bit more expensive but I really do believe it tastes better. I've never been tempted to buy something that looks like meat but isn't... but to each, his own.

Some of it isn't great, not a big fan of the sausages or fish finger things. Anything chicken-ish is pretty good and also quorn mince is nice. The Burgers I've tried I don't really like but there are ones called "Beyond meat" that my friend recommended so I need to try those

I might give the Beyond Meat thing a try at some time... but there's no way I'm getting Alex to eat anything that isn't beef. He is quite good though, for a Texan.
