Skiing and snowboarding

Have you ever done skiing or snowboarding or both?

What have been your experiences?

Beastie 21-11-2019 10:03 PM

I've been skiing and love it. I got a level 1 in a ski instructor course. Not done it since April. Need to get back into the swing of it. I ought to try snowboarding.

I've skied a lot, only snowboarded a few times but I'd like to do a bit more when we eventually have a skiing holiday again. I think I prefer skiing, but I think snowboarding is a lot of fun. The best bit though, is sitting outside a cafe on the mountain with a gluhwein or Jaeger tea... watching...

I've skied, was absolutely terrified the whole time, I did manage to become an expert at crash stopping though. Me and ice/snow don't mix too well. Ice skating was even worse, most horrific 40 minutes of my life that one time I took the kids :skull:

I went on one of those floating garden bench things, getting off it was one of the scariest things I've ever done :bawling:

I'm fine with the pomas... the t-bar is worst, I always get some splodge to share it with, or someone a lot bigger than me and disaster ensues. Skiing off the chair lift is best.

Used to love skiing as a kid, not really done much of it since

A "Skiing Holiday" for me would literally be admiring the views whilst getting sloshed in one of the pubs/lodges/taverns they have on the resorts. I'm too accident-prone to ski! :joker:

I haven't done neither although I would love too.

Only been to one of those indoor ski slopes. It was fun for a couple of hours, don't think it's something I'd want to do for an holiday though.
