I feel so sorry for the man. Literally smeared into oblivion. Gah!

Mystic Mock 13-12-2019 04:52 AM

Tbh in hindsight he probably should've stepped down after failing to beat May.

I am with LaLaLand that it's a shame to see the Election result be smeared by the Media though as they blatantly favoured Boris over Corbyn.

Ammi 13-12-2019 05:06 AM

...as much as I find nothing to admire in Boris as a person and as a leader...Jeremy must look to himself as one of the prime reasons that the Conservative party have been ‘unstoppable’...

Yes that is true

GoldHeart 13-12-2019 10:10 AM

We'll always have a stupid Tory government sadly, the labour faces will change and the cycle continues of rinse & repeat :bored:.

If they pick a decent leader, and lose some of the hard left feel, they will get back in power, the number of people I have listened to phoning into radio programmes this morning who are Labour voters who reluctantly voted Tory because they voted Leave and felt they had no other choice as they weren't listened to, Corbyn should have picked a side, leave or remain, rather than the wishy washy notion of another referendum kicked down the road

I'd get this if we hadn't just lived through hard right tory ideological austerity that's ravaged the country, and an extreme universal credit/disabled work assessment policy that's forcing people into suicide. Personally, I don't see anything particularly hard left about helping those people as opposed to the super wealthy who are positioned to make a literal killing from brexit. But yeah, Corbyn was a disaster on his brexit stance.

Brexit had an impact but Corbyn couldn't win no matter what he did or said, people turned against him.

How fickle when he was loved when he first became Labour leader, even his son was praised and I didn't know anything about his son.

I knew it was too good to be true , I knew they'd turn against him but the hate campaign was worst than ever:bored: .

It makes no difference who becomes the next Labour face ,as they can't win. People already make up their minds .

Livia 13-12-2019 10:31 AM

It hurts the country to have a weak opposition. There's no one to truly stop the Tories doing anything they want. Labour wouldn't listen, Corbyn wouldn't listen, Momentum wouldn't listen... I hope they pick a decent leader next time now they realise most people don't want a hard Left government.

What's all this foolery you spill about "hard left"?? .

Well we're in a hard right government hope you're pleased  .

What s contradiction if ever I heard one ,one minute Corbyn is anti semitic then the next he's too far left??? Wtf .

He isn't anti Semitic and the too far left comment makes no sense, I'd rather that then too far right which is what we have now and worse to come.

Johnson and Co tapped into the people in the red wall who felt their voice was being ignored, a huge percentage of people up North seem to want Brexit, they gave the people what they want and here we are

I agree. I hope everyone enjoys the hard brexit we've got coming our way.

Who'd have known that hard right liars with 3 word slogans would be popular on both sides of the Atlantic?!

what media?

tv, press, online?

and who in those sections?

A lovely man and one of the least problematic politicians we've had in a generation. Shame he never got his chance to prove himself as PM.

I wonder if they'll still think the Tories are listening to them in 5 years time :joker:.

That's one thing about the huge majority... the Tories have gotten very comfortable palming anything that people don't like off on other parties or other aspects of government. That's going to be tough with a large majority government and over a decade in power. Who will they blame when people don't like their mess?

The media highly favoured Johnson, especially newspapers they were biased AF with the Tories. They painted Corbyn as a rain thunder and Johnson as a beacon of light . Pathetic!! :bored:.

Brown and poor people.

Even if Corbyn is actually the most perfect person ever and the ideal PM .. most of the country don't agree, as shown by the election.

"I will not be leader for the next election" and "I'm stepping down as soon as is feasible" are two completely different things.

I hope he's not gonna keep the seat warm until the run-up to the next election. We can't have Labour stagnate under him. The sooner he's gone the better, for the Party and country. All governments, especially this one, need a strong opposition.

Who knows, if there's a strong Labour leader who keeps Boris on his toes for a few years, they might swap places for the following election! But no, we'll probably get one of the insufferable Corbynites who are always in the media representing Labour...

In all honesty I just think yeah, they wanted it, they had 3 years to think if the really wanted it, they still believe they do, so much so that they would vote Tory, whole families who have never voted Tory in their lives, they want Brexit so bad, so go for it then, don't be crying about it though, some people who voted leave will be fine, you have to wonder about working class families in Stoke, Middlesborough etc

Johnson doesn't know what he's doing and nobody knows what he'll do next .

He's a loose canon and the only thing he repeated leading up to the election was "get Brexit done" :bored: .
He sounded like Nigel Farage , another weasel that has nothing else to offer.
