SQUIRT aka Boxing Day traditions :)

My town has something called the Squirt. A barrel is suspended over the river, and firefighters from here and the main town are on either side, and fire their hoses at it, trying to swing it toward the other side <3

Does your town have any traditions?

I think, if I'm not mistaken, the water is sucked up from the river that the barrel is suspended across.

I know...just realised where I saw this on telly...it was james Acaster on would I lie to you..

Vintage fire engines are used, and volunteer firemen participate in the event.

I like james Acaster, he's a funny young man.

Yeah, i live in the village and he's from the town, but really the village is a section of the town ...if that makes sense :joker:
