Nigel Farage is planning to host a £100,000 "Brexit Celebration Party" in Parliament Square,
with fireworks, bands and comedians, to mark the moment Britain leaves the European Union later this month.

The party in Westminster "under the watchful eye" of Churchill's statue on Friday Jan 31 will culminate at 11pm
when campaigners and MPs hope Big Ben will 'bong' to mark the moment that the UK brings down the
curtain on its 45 year membership of the EU.

Richard Tice, the Brexit Party chairman and Mr Farage are applying to the Greater London Assembly -
which licenses events on the square - to stage the event which could culminate with a fireworks
display similar to New Years Eve.

Organised under the cross-party Leave Means Leave banner, between 5,000 and 10,000
members of the public are expected to attend.

Each will be charged a small ticket price to cover costs although some donors are expected
to help pay for it. Every attendee will receive a special "memento" to mark the day.

The plan is to celebrate with bands, singers, speeches by key Brexiteers such as Mr Farage.

Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, will be invited Mr Farage told The Sunday Telegraph:
"Jan 31 is a moment to celebrate, when the Establishment have been beaten by the people.

"We will invite people from all parties, business figures - they will be asked to join the celebration.
There will be a few short speeches but the won't be very political.

"It will be celebratory. There will be music and singing. It will be a good-natured, upbeat,
optimistic genuine celebration with no direct political edge whatsoever."

Are you in London, will you go along for the event?

How Nice

The Slim Reaper 04-01-2020 01:59 PM

Interested what bands they get to sign up for a far right rally.

It's going to be a 5 hour Roger Daltrey and Morrisseyapalooza, isn't it?

Right wing fools treating brexit like it's a sporting event celebration. No wonder the Right Wing is so cult-y when it's followers act like they are worshipping a football team, not politicians who should be serving them

''Richard Tice, the Brexit Party chairman''

you wouldn't say he's the big man behind the brexit party, since it has been mostly Farage with all of their promo and Tice remaining in the shadows

Why does he look like he is jizzing himself in every single photo taken of him?

I expect Ariande Grande and Stormsy will play as they are in fashion right now and this is a good gig (and in LOndon)

Oh yeah, with a sky high budget of £100k it's going to be this generation's Woodstock :joker:.

It'll be an Elvis impersonator using the karaoke machine Nige borrowed from his local.

Ariande Grande and Stormsy sounds about right actually. Maybe they can also get Little Mhixxx and Louis Capalfri.

The Slim Reaper 04-01-2020 02:16 PM

Half a shilling have signed up

What's all this 'far right' nonsense? Hundreds of thousands Labour voters also voted for Brexit. Brexit shouldn't even be a left or right thing, but it's been made out to be.
