Anyone here into Synthwave?
 

I love this genre, probably my new favourite. It seems to be growing and growing. I first discovered synthwave watching Stranger Things, i loved the intro Theme so i looked it up on youtube back in 2016, then i found this whole world of synthwave and haven't looked back since.

There were a few random massive songs on YouTube around 2013-16 that incorporated chillwave into this whole retro 80s, synthwave movement and it kinda took off because of Vine and YouTube memes.

The one that stands out was this, which is genuinely gorgeous



But generally I'm just a fan of the sound interpolated through pop music. Your CHVRCHES, Carly Rae Jepsen, Robyn, M83, etc and what have you. Oh and the 'Drive' soundtrack really helped the genre gain popularity I think, because of these bangers.

You probably know about them, but Gunship, Timecop1983, Wolfclub and The Midnight are artists worth checking out. Thanks for that chillwave mix, i'll have a listen.

I love synthwave covers, this is pretty neat

Love Synthwave, or anything overly synth-based/80's synth.

The band "The Midnight" are one of my favs. Their music videos add to the whole vibe of their songs too, using clips from movies (often 80's movies).

Bumping this for all the people coming back and any newbies. I didn't really listen to any Synthwave during the summer, but in past couple days i've looking up some of my favourite artists to see if they've released any new stuff.

Also, yeah LaLaLand. The Midnight are excellent, check out Memories from them if you haven't already.

Timecop1983 are pretty awesome

Timecop1983 are superb. I have tons of their stuff in my spotify playlists.

Listened to this one throughout the summer of 2022.

At the last count, i had 14 synthesizers in my studio, so I am quite familiar :laugh:
