At what age is a boy a man?

Does the typical bloke stay on the plain of a child or is there a certain age?

Denver 06-01-2020 11:08 PM

Obviously depends on the individual and their circumstances/life experience, but for me personally, I'd say over the last year or so I have started to feel more 'adult'. Therefore I'd say between the age of 21-25. However, in saying that, I'm pretty sure when I was like 18/19 I thought the same thing lol, but looking back I know that not to be true!

Strictly Jake 07-01-2020 06:58 AM

I still dont feel like an adult and Im 30 this year!

Cherie 07-01-2020 07:14 AM

Physically I think late teens to early 20s, mentally it depends on lifestyle, responsibilities, attitude etc

Niamh. 07-01-2020 09:22 AM

Yeah agree with others it's not really something you generalise about, people are different

A man is not a man until he has a daughter

30's tbh. The idea that it's 18 or 21 is flat-out hilarious :joker:. But yeah I've only started to grow up (slightly) in the last few years and I'm 34. The same applies to most people my age that I know, so I have to go with 30.

For some people it's never. I mean look at LT, ****ing manbaby.

Livia 07-01-2020 09:42 AM

About twenty years after a girl becomes a women.

so what if you are, say, 15 and have a daughter?

Does that make you a man?

Its an old Scottish saying that has some truth in it but it obvs does not work in many instances such as above

mainly as its just a saying

but like many sayings its got some truth about it

A lot of guys have this daft macho thing about daughters and how they'll be sweet and innocent and need protecting and wrapped in cotton wool. My best friend had a boy first, then a girl... when she was on the way he was full of these pearls of wisdom about how it would be. At this point of course I already had 2 girls and my eldest was 8. I laughed & laughed.

Went to his daughter's 1st birthday party a couple of months back, she's already got him in his place. :joker:

He also got to experience my now-10-year-old in full "Billy Eilish mode" which has dispelled some illusions about parenting a girl. :hehe:

It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth like daughters are property or something?

Is it, a son is a son till he gets him a wife, but a daughter's a daughter all of her life?
