Netflix is over 100, think the Beeb is great value

LeatherTrumpet 20-01-2020 03:59 PM

A bit of TV perhaps like Dracula, Radio 2, a bit of radio Scotland for football

Niamh. 20-01-2020 04:01 PM

I am sure you watch Eurovision and Strictly :suspect:

smudgie 20-01-2020 04:03 PM

Yes. Watch it every day.
Plus I use iplayer

Cherie 20-01-2020 04:07 PM

Watching DOI last night I put it on delay as there has to be half an hour of ads now during the show?

Yes to Eurovision and NO to the awful Strictly

Rob! 20-01-2020 04:16 PM

The licence fee honestly does not bother me. I think it's more than worthwhile considering what we get.

Do you feel the BBC are politically bias or even handed?

LukeB 20-01-2020 04:24 PM

Only watch strictly on bbc one and eastenders, drag race and killing eve on bbci player.

Maxxie. 20-01-2020 05:15 PM

Netflix is far better value than the BBC, I'm in my parents house atm but when I was a student I didn't have a license but I did watch iPlayer (there's a loophole around it!) but yeah if you don't watch BBC then there's always catch up when you can legally watch programmes from other channels as well not to mention there's Netflix/nowtv/amazon prime so yeah I definitely think living without a tv license is perfectly doable for me anyway.

Maxxie. 20-01-2020 05:17 PM

besides if you just turned a vpn on and watched bbc shows online I don't see how it would even be possible for them to find out (and probably very unlikely if it was)

Shaun 20-01-2020 05:42 PM

Off the top of my head I watch the following regularly: QI (BBC2), Fleabag (BBC2), Killing Eve (BBC3, I think?), Drag Race UK (BBC3), Graham Norton Show (BBC1), Match of the Day [2] (BBC1), Strictly when it's on (BBC1), News 24/Breakfast in the mornings (BBC1)

Sometimes if I'm in the mood: Only Connect, University Challenge, Masterchef (and its variants), David Attenborough's stuff, Line of Duty, Sherlock and Would I Lie to You?

And will listen to Radio 1 or 2 occasionally on the way to/from work.

Used to like Pointless but it's so impossible to win now, and The Chase is just better.

LeatherTrumpet 20-01-2020 05:46 PM

Oh yeah I forgot about MOTD and MOTD2

Shaun 20-01-2020 05:47 PM

Are they bringing back that latest Alan Partridge vehicle? The one that was basically a spoof of The One Show?

Where does the Irish licence money go?

I'm sure the channels are getting more like America and it's more than once every quarter of an hour they run ads now. More like every 5 minutes.

I honestly don't know how you can moan about whether it's "value for money" when you don't bother to pay anyway and consume the products illegally.

Kind of renders any point you made moot.

Dogeatdog 20-01-2020 06:24 PM

I do enjoy watching TOTP2 on BBC Four . Other than that I only watch MOTD, Graham Norton and stuff like Blue Planet when it’s on.

LaLaLand 20-01-2020 06:29 PM

I regularly watch BBC1 and also regularly find myself on iPlayer binging a series or watching a movie.
