Halsey apologises after calling for another World Trade Center collapse

Halsey is apologizing for an insensitive tweet about the One World Trade Center building.

It started when the singer, 25, hit back at the outlet Pitchfork, who shared a less-than-positive review of her new album, Manic, on Twitter. The review, in part, read, “Too much of this album sounds like the amorphous pop that you might associate with a miserable Lyft ride.”

In response, Halsey slammed the outlet. In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote, “Can the basement that they run p*tchfork out of just collapse already.”

The Pitchfork offices are in One World Trade Center, the main building in the rebuilt Twin Towers, which collapsed on 9/11.

According to Halsey, she had no idea where Pitchfork’s offices are located.

NBC reporter Ben Kesslen alerted the “Without Me” singer about the insensitive tweet: “Losing my mind thinking about the person on Halsey’s team who had to tell her she just called for the collapse of One World Trade.”

Manic is streaming everywhere now.

This isn't on the front page of the Daily Star and I posted it in the music subforum, not Serious Debates :)

Poor choice of comment that you'll kinda see everywhere though (comments to the extent of that anyway). Would people have blinked an eye if it didn't happen to be the WTC?

But they're right about the album and I like ha music usually :omgno:

...ouch at Pitchfork’s review...she obviously responded with no thought....no bad intentions intended..?...as the saying goes...I don’t know ha...

Replace Halsey with Larry David and this is an episode of Curb your Enthusiasm.

An insensitive comment, and she's shown that she can't take criticism which is poor for someone that's in the Music Industry where every singer gets torn apart by some people.

However I doubt that she meant to mock 9/11.

Eh I don't think anyone knew/cared where the Pitchfork HQ were, this is a bit of a reach to discredit someone who was already deemed annoying by stan culture.
