France:Police Fighting Fireman in the streets
Crazy all about money [Violent fighting broke out between police and firefighters in the streets of Paris during a protest over working conditions and pay. French police fired water cannon and tear gas at angry firefighters – some who set themselves on fire during demonstrations. Fire brigade unions are demanding better pay and conditions and organised the demonstration in the capital’s Place de la Republique to bring attention to their cause today. They want a pay rise of 25% arguing their work is made increasingly difficult due to staff cuts and attacks against them.] Read more: https://metro.co.uk/2020/01/28/frenc...4/?ito=cbshare https://i2.wp.com/metro.co.uk/wp-con...68%2C512&ssl=1 |
Meanwhile in the UK, Fifi from Islington is gonna get really annoyed and sulk if she receives a new 50 pence piece in her change.
Have we still got time to join back up with the lovely EU? It looks like Heaven on Earth. |
Everywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy
The summer's here and the time is right for fighting in the street boy |
I just couldn't imagine that happening here.

Rather extreme..setting themselves on fire, as is a 25% pay rise.
The world has gone mad. |
french people are on the streets protesting every chance they get (ask marie antoinette )
They will be out blockading the port after brexit, that's a certainty |
Maybe it should happen here, living standards, rights, protections and regulations are being erroded and that is all about money... cost cutting excersises that put lives in danger.
Take Grenfell for instance, how did that happen? They took the responsibility for fire safety away from the fire service why? Because they knew that that was the only way to ensure outsourcing competition between contractors would work. Those putting in the lowest bids would have to use the cheapest products to make any profit, regardless of safety. But who was blamed for not being able to tackle a fire in a building that was effectively encased in highly flammable melting plastic?! The police should never be used as militia as they have been in the past to inflict government will on society, this is what that smacks of to me. Democracy is reflecting the will of the people, that is not happening ... so where does the problem lie? If the govt of the day is not listening and acting in a way that compromises society in general then democracy fails and leads to revolt. However the police are part of society too, it must be difficult to be placed in a situation where you're labour is politicised against your peers in this way. Something has to give. |

I'm sure the champagne region will still get some customers even if it's by private jet. Parliamentary privilege.
