Would you marry a person who didn't want to work.

Yes or no.

Niamh. 30-01-2020 03:10 PM

Depends what the reason for their unemployment was

Ok

Beso 30-01-2020 03:20 PM

Thank you.

Cherie 30-01-2020 04:35 PM

No! That said it depends what the arrangements are, say if I was a high flyer and I was happy to follow my career while the other half looked after the kids, or if no kids did all the cleaning, cooking, washing etc, I guess that would be fine

Cherie 30-01-2020 04:35 PM

but don't expect me to stagger in at 7pm and put on a wash :nono:

Marsh. 30-01-2020 04:45 PM

I would marry an unemployed person.

"Someone who doesn't want to work" is very different. They don't want to work because they inherited 20 million so actually don't have to? Don't want to work because they feel they have a full time job at home with kids and everything else?

Demonising the unemployed as "people who don't want to work" is a simplistic generalisation.

Beso 30-01-2020 05:21 PM

Interesting poll results so far, looks like it may go the way I expected.

If only more people would vote to see.

Josy 30-01-2020 05:34 PM

If they had good reason ie medical etc then yes.

If they were just a flat out lazy bastard then it's a big ol nope from me.

Beso 30-01-2020 05:37 PM

Can everyone vote in this please.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 30-01-2020 05:40 PM

I wouldn’t marry anyone

and that is the thread title

Josy 30-01-2020 06:07 PM

Chose no in the poll due to the title saying someone who didnt want to work

Strictly Jake 30-01-2020 06:11 PM

Dont know how to answer. My wife doesnt work as we already have 2 kids under 5 and a baby in just a few weeks so my wife hasnt worked for a few years now and wont go back to work for another 2 years yet. But it works for us. I get how it is a full time job looking after young kids and running a home so its not like she doesnt work. So I guess I will say Yes I would.

Crimson Dynamo 30-01-2020 06:15 PM

if the intention of the tread is to illustrate a lazy bastard NO

i work hard long hours and expect my partner to do the same :oh:

unfortunately the TL is a lazy ***and gets a kings ransom for diddly squat

but then again that is why i love her

thesheriff443 30-01-2020 06:17 PM

well gold diggers don’t work instead give sexual favours and men are happy to marry them pretty much like footballers wife’s.

thesheriff443 30-01-2020 06:19 PM

Then on the flip side you get women who complain because their partner works to much and they don’t get enough time together.

It’s a funny old game.

And both of these posts could be applied to men too yeah?

thesheriff443 30-01-2020 06:21 PM

Then you get couples that work but don’t put equal amounts into the relationship in terms of money.
