Creepy UberEats delivery guy

My mum just ordered a McDonalds breakfast for her and her friends who are sitting on the other side of the house basically in the kitchen - so I answer the door for them and she always leaves cash on the hall table to give as tips, I answer the door and take the food and as soon as I open the door the guys a bit weird, looks about 30 and doesnt even say hello.

I say hold on a sec there is a tip and literally take 2 steps back, the guy stepped into the door way (we have an entry way, 2 sets of doors and hes between those so inside the house really) and I hand him the £5 note and say thanks and he just looked at me and said 'are you alone?' I think I sorta went 'ha' and said no and went to close the door slowly and he just stood there and looked at the tip and then back at me and said 'see you again' and walked away

I'm freaking out how weird!

Yes he appears to be in the
Wrong Job.

UberEats let you rate him
I hope you do.

He wanted you Alone
for possible sex?
You need a Pepper Spray.

If I was you I'd make sure that you're never alone in the house Amy Jade, at least for the week.

Its a strange question given he was delivering several breakfasts, not to sure about this one, why step into the porch? maybe just ring the Maccy Ds it was ordered from and report it

I think with UberEats the courier is "independent" from the food venue? So I guess they could complain to UberEats on the customer's behalf to put a bit more weight behind it, but the driver isn't employed by them directly so they can't do anything about it immediately.

A fiver tip? :O

Saph 01-02-2020 11:52 AM

sounds dodgy tbh

Swan 01-02-2020 11:58 AM

A lot of delivery drivers don't say hello or communicate in any way because they don't speak or understand any english. I pay online so no need to say anything, he'll hand me the food, i'll say 'thank you' (usually not acknowledged) and that'll be it.

But yeah surly he knew you wasn't alone as he was delivering breakfast for multiple people. Maybe you missed heard him.

Yeah I know he is employed by Ubereats but its not good for their business, and in all honesty at least you would get to speak with the manager, and he might be a regular there, with Ubereats who knows where your email will go or how long it will take to get a response

bitontheslide 01-02-2020 12:33 PM

i think you should always be suspicious because that keeps you careful and more likely safe

One time a JustEat delivery guy was trying really hard to get my number and I told him I had a boyfriend. He said that I should give him my number in case we break up. :skull:
