In the summer 2017, Nayeon, third among the sibling of four, was diagnosed with leukaemia and hospitalized for medical care. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it through the treatment and passed away by fall — leaving her family, especially her mother, completely devastated..

And this is the point Virtual Reality has gone too far...

Withano 11-02-2020 09:38 AM

This surely isn’t helpful

Niamh. 11-02-2020 09:39 AM

I can't watch it right now but the idea sounds really disturbing and agree with Withano not very helpful

Jigs 11-02-2020 09:42 AM

That is unbelievably sad! Though I do believe this is a bit too far...

I'm pretty sure that psychologically this is a really bad idea :umm2:

Exactly - she reaches out to touch her and she isn't there. Obviously I haven't seen any studies on this (because I doubt there ARE any studies on this) but at a guess, I would say that could easily cause re-traumatisation. I just can't think of any scenario where it would be a helpful grieving tool.

In lighter touch-related VR news... my daughter played "job simulator" at a VR arcade and tried to lean on a counter in the game. Went down like a sack of bricks, it was amazing. You've Been Framed would have THROWN £200 at me for a clip like that.
