https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...IOAV10qr8gfhjA

So take a typical week

what have your worn and is now in the washing basket?

So for example I would have

1 Jumper

1 pair jeans

2 Shirts

7 pairs boxer shorts

7 pairs socks

so what do you have? :suspect:

yes they last a week, i hate changing into new clothes - so uncomfortable

this is why i have my own washing basket as the TL will happily put on a fleece for ONE DAY and rather than hang it back up she and her recalcitrant daughter put in in the wash :oh:

caprimint 11-02-2020 10:23 AM

Yeah I don't get why people change their clothes every time they wear it for like a day :skull:

Cherie 11-02-2020 10:28 AM

I am trying to do better, and not wash things after one wear

I'd definitely wash t shirts sock and underwear but I wouldn't wash jeans or jumpers after one wear (unless they got dirty or something spilled on them)

parmnion 11-02-2020 10:34 AM

Mainly just my work clothes and 7 pairs of underwear and socks..and my comfies.

But I go round someone's house at the weekend to do her washing for her as she can't manage...That's a whole different kettle if fish...sometimes it's 3 loads worth.

i change my clothes like twice a week for example

now we had extra washing :oh: something what we didn't want this week but first last night our dog peed on my mom's bed, and this morning she threw up on our sofa (which we got a cloth on so that was dirty too) :(

smudgie 11-02-2020 10:56 AM

Varies.
In general it’s towels and bedding every 7/10 days.
Underwear everyday, normally 2 or 3 dresses week, same with nighties.
Couple of cardies a week and then whatever hubby puts in the wash.

I go every monday and help an elderly woman out, shes 96 and can still do a lot for herself but I help her with washings, hoovering etc

So every week in her washing basket is 7 days worth of underwear, socks/tights, clothes for each day, 2 towels per day and 3 housecoats/dressing gowns, and also her bedding cos I strip that for her every week.

Twosugars 11-02-2020 11:28 AM

2 towels per day? Crazy.
No wonder the planet is ****ed

I can accept wearing jeans or a jumper for up to 3 days if they're not actually dirty, but not putting on a fresh shirt / t-shirt every day? FILTH.

i wear Fife Country Falkland Checked Shirts made with 100% long fibre cotton, gives it a luxurious feel, plus warmth, comfort and long wear. Farmers wear them and they are good for a whole week in winter if you wash daily and wear good quality anti perspirant. Only the cuffs can get dirty if lifting a lot of boxes.

I don't wash things like jumpers after only one say unless they actually get dirty.

But the same jeans for a week? D: They might not get actually dirty but surely the arse/crotch areas sweat Mr LT?
