**** sake ... Six-year-old girl arrested at Florida school

Police bodycam footage released on 25 February has captured the moment a visibly distressed child was arrested at her school in Orlando, Florida in September 2019.

The six-year-old girl was restrained with zip ties and escorted to a waiting police car after misbehaving in class.

Lawyers for her family at Smith and Eulo Law Firm told the BBC that the family chose to release the footage because they wanted to show how the arrest unfolded.

The person whose bodycam captured the ordeal was fired after an internal investigation by the Orlando Police Department. Officer Dennis Turner had not followed the correct protocol, which states that a police officer must have their supervisor's approval to arrest any child under the age of 12.

The poor child, bloody hell. Can't believe the school called the Police on a 6 year old either ffs

Elliot 26-02-2020 12:16 PM

****ing strange that school dealt with a misbehaving child by calling the police on her and probably traumatising her

Crimson Dynamo 26-02-2020 12:23 PM

nasty little brat hitting staff. I hope she learned a lesson, what must her parent/s be like is any ones guess

who would be a policeman having now to deal with unruly violent children?

Sounds like this pig has previous of being a c u next tuesday.

Thankfully, he's got his cards now.

I'm sure this little girl will do well out of this. Not only does she have an anecdote to tell, but I reckon people will send her a few bob.

Ask american police

Zizu 26-02-2020 12:39 PM

Who got sacked though ?

The officer attached to the school who authorised the arrest or the guy who zip tied her hands together ..

Also who was the guy at the end of the clip bragging about 20,000 arrests .. youngest being 7 until this case ?

says something about the lackings of discipline of that school, i mean many other schools can handle 6 year olds who misbehave

and honestly you'd think some would call the parents first before calling police

When Alfred Hitchcock was a child (5 or 6 years old) his father sent him down to the Police station with a note. When he gave the note to the Policeman at the desk, the Policeman put young Alfred into a Police cell and left him in there for five minutes. When he let him out, he told young Alfred "this is what happens to naughty boys" from that day on, Alfred Hitchcock had a fear of Policemen.

It was Alfred's fathers way of teaching young Alfred not to misbehave.

But you know full well America
is nothing like us

Amy Jade 26-02-2020 12:59 PM

This will be controversial but other than the unnecessary arresting and removal of the child I think calling the police to a child who cannot be controlled is good. Sometimes a visual works wonders.

Children should not be allowed to attack teachers at all.

It's no surprise to see that she's a black child. People in the US love to call the police on black people for little to no reason and the police just love to use unreasonable force on them. Sticking a a six year old in a police car for misbehaving is ridiculous and I'm glad the officer got sacked, I hope the parents sued the **** out of the school.

This kind of thing is always a good example of bad parenting.

Teaching children to fear the police is really dumb typically although given the american police's habbits of killing minorities for funsies, it's understandable.

They may have and the parents were unavailable. The sad thing is if the teacher had even softly held the child and told them no the parents are likely to kick off about it.

There was a video a while ago a man filmed of his wife confronting a teacher who their child had said hit him, she warned the poor teacher with violence and then not long after it came out the kid had flat out lied.

Poor Alfred spent the rest of his life surrounded by horrors

The US police have a habit of unreasonable force towards black people. it's rare to go a for long stretches of time without hearing about how a police officer killed a black person for existing.

Amy Jade 26-02-2020 01:08 PM

I don't think it's bad parenting to make children scared of the police either. My mum and Nan used to say the police were coming when I was being naughty and I'd crap myself because I was being naughty, if they said it when I was playing innocently I had nothing to fear.

LukeB 26-02-2020 01:17 PM

This is just awful, she's 6 years old ffs she's going to be traumatised after this. It's a bit pathetic to call the police. That poor girl was really scared.

Kizzy 26-02-2020 01:20 PM

This is twilight zone stuff isn't it...the police arresting little girls for having a paddy?

Thank goodness it was sorted before they shot her!!

Beso 26-02-2020 01:39 PM

The parents should have been called and then they may have suggested the hitchcock method for her punishment..that would have been what I would have done if I was her parent.
