Treating costa coffee as an office coffrence room

So I’m sat in costa waiting for my daughters film to finish and there is four people from a firm or office having a vocal meeting regarding work policies

And on other occasions people in there on lap tops while making a coffee last a long time

How do you feel about this?

Alf 07-03-2020 01:54 PM

Knob heads

Dogeatdog 07-03-2020 01:56 PM

Sounds like a really dull place to be tbh.

But should people be using it for work when others are using it for a coffee.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Costa started to install those projector pull down screens in their shops so people can do PowerPoint presentations.

I don't mind people working on their laptops in silence, office meetings should be a no no :nono:

If I was with the misses I would, some times we have fake rows and say things like, well at least I didn’t spend the night with bar man. Or we are only going to relate because you don’t want sex

We say it so people hear us and we just as lib.

thesheriff443 07-03-2020 02:22 PM

Also got a woman that keeps crying talking about family drama

Saph 07-03-2020 02:24 PM

I used to work at tesco and the managers would always sit in costa having coffee for hours just watching everyone working

we all grouped together and complained to head office about it and although nothing ever got back to us about it, we never saw them all in costa together again so it must've worked :skull:

I don't see how an office meeting is much different to a group of friends talking. Obviously, you have to be a little more discreet and be mindful of GDPR depending on what you're discussing. I have met candidates in various coffee shops if their current positions or lack f transport make it difficult to get into our offices for interviews.

Withano 07-03-2020 02:28 PM

I do it a lot when im meeting colleagues from different work places. It’s either that or a Skype call and that never works. Sorry not sorry.

Because people rent office space and conference rooms it’s like running a business from costa.

They don’t let tramps sit there all day on a coffee so why should people us the space for work for the cost of a coffee.

I don't get the problem. If they have bought coffee and don't take the piss with eeking one coffee out for hours and keep paying then don't get the problem.

If people are being obnoxiously loud I understand the issue but if they are meeting as a central point and buy coffees / food etc, I can't see what the problem is.

thesheriff443 07-03-2020 02:40 PM

It’s like bringing a phone in the cinema, its taking the p1ss

Crimson Dynamo 07-03-2020 02:54 PM

:suspect: so you’ve been there longer than 90 minutes and just been playing with your phone?

Jessica. 07-03-2020 03:16 PM

I don't understand the issue at all. It sounds like a more light hearted place than a windowless office.

Oliver_W 07-03-2020 03:29 PM

As long as they actually buy coffee, they should be allowed in there:)

Been waiting for my daughters film to finish, costa is inside a cinema complex.

thesheriff443 07-03-2020 03:43 PM

Just bedfore any one asks, I bought a pot of tea, ham and cheese toasty a chocolate and raspberry muffin.

Then went back up and got an iron brew to have in with a glass and ice.
