Curtis can’t even do the natural conversation on The Greatest Dancer without sounding wooden and over-rehearsed so I’d hate to see him trying to front a show with an actual script.

No the whole reason Ant and Dec have been so successful is because they have "friendly, relatable" faces (and accents); they seem more like "your buddy" than a celebrity and people like that. Same reason Graham Norton etc. are popular.

No one will watch a young, fit, pretty-faced presenter.
