Lidl has opened some brand new stores lately and they're nice :hee:. Aldi stores are burnt out warehouses full of tramps and sick.

Lidl > the fresh cheesy twists and doughnuts are amazing from the bakery

Not much Aldi's here, so Lidl.

Never tried Lidle

Tried Aldi for the first time a few months ago and it was honestly abysmal... the prices for near enough everything were the same in ASDA, and the layout and packaging was rough.

Rarely shop in Lidl but their bakery section is 10/10 and don't get me started on the cookies. Plus they were the go-to shop for my friends as a teenager trying to buy booze underage.

Yep, 5+ years ago it was notably cheaper than "main" supermarkets but the prices have crept up. Their fresh produce is rank (the veg is bland or low quality, the meat starts to stink 2 days before its use by date) and own brand stuff like stock cubes, cheese, cooked meats... whilst cheaper... Are horrible. You can get some good prices on things like cleaning products but that's about it.

Lidl food is much better quality... Although, it's not that much cheaper than the big supermarkets either. We do tend to spend half as much there as say Tesco though - because we only buy food, whereas at Tesco we end up with a trolley full of all sorts of crap we don't need :joker:

We're the worst at Sainsburies... Quite regularly end up spending £200 and coming away with stuff like frying pans, plant pots, duvet covers... And there's an Argos in there... Last time I ended up buying a £60 keyboard on impulse :umm2:. I only went in for chicken and wraps...
