ITV replacing X Factor with Stars in their Eyes Reboot

It will see members of the public impersonating their favourite pop stars before a celebrity panel

LaLaLand 13-03-2020 09:10 PM

PLEASE don't say they're bringing back Harry Hill to do it again after the abomination he did last time they revived this :omgno:

There’s been no more info yet but GOD I hope not

I was so hyped when they brought it back last time, didn’t watch a single episode because of Harry Hill, hope they get someone decent to do it!

Smithy 13-03-2020 09:22 PM

Oh god I bet it’s ****ing Rylan that ends up doing it

You appearing as Whitney Houston?

Strictly Jake 13-03-2020 09:42 PM

Why again??

MB. 13-03-2020 09:56 PM

Wow, we really are reverting to the 1980s in more ways than one

(I shall pretend for the purposes of this post that Stars in their Eyes started before 1990)

It doesn't need judges. The plain old format from before worked fine.

Video package > "Tonight ___ I'm going to be..." > Perform > Vote > Winner.

I'd love Matthew Kelly to come back and do it.

Because The Masked Singer was a smash hit and they wont want to overkill it

zenon 14-03-2020 05:42 PM

Would like to see Maya Jama host it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hated Hill's version, he basically crapped all over a classic show and made it another TV burp farce :bored: :fist: .

Hated his version , I only watched 1 episode which was painful enough. I kept watching the old rerun episodes instead.

I'm dreading this reboot , doubt they'll do it justice.

I'm going to eat fire if Rylan does it , I'm fed up of him getting all these random TV gigs give SOMEONE else a bloody chance!!! :bored:.

And if egg head Harry Hill returns to throw garbage all over it , then I'm going to avoid it again like the plague again .

It won't be overkilling it if they just give it X Factor's slot each autumn.

I think the other worry is that it’s not a strong enough format to compete against strictly so having it in X factors slot would kill it quicker than it was in the jan spot

But Star in Their Eyes is? D:

What happened to brand new concepts? Replacing one old show with another is so lazy IMO.

IITV ran out of new ideas a long time ago , I think they should of brought back 'friends like these' that was a good puzzle & strategy game with groups of friends competing boys against girls. Because surely they wouldn't EFF up that format ? as it's simple enough.

But another Stars in their eyes reboot will most likely be another embarrassment. And will be nothing like the classic I bet .

Shaun 15-03-2020 05:43 AM

this screams "Jason Manford hosting" tbh

Black Dagger 15-03-2020 06:57 AM

Phew. And here was me thinking ITV were running out of original ideas.

Nicky91 15-03-2020 08:24 AM

but it should be without audiences then, due to coronavirus

Wasn't Friends Like These on BBC?

Yes it was , but ITV could easily get hold of it.

Plus look at BB , that was known as a C4 show yet C5 bought it . I know that's a bad example to use though as they made a mess of it .
