S12, Episode 4 - "The Ball Ball" [Potential spoilers]
 

I don't know why they do the balls so early in the season now because it means we'll have 36 different ****ing looks to steamroll through :skull:



From what I gather, the categories are "Lady Baller" (a female athlete look), "Basketball Wife Realness" (basically a real housewife), and "Balls to the Wall Eleganza" (ie. the only one they have to make on the spot, using actual balls)

I love runway challenges, but these balls happening so early is a pain.

They got a fashion maxi challenge to let them "breathe" after two episodes of acting/performing. I like having these kind of challenges early, it's always nice to see who can't sew for their life lmao

I'd much prefer a straight-forward sewing challenge with one theme. I feel like the balls in recent seasons have been quite lacklustre because they're oversaturated with runway looks. They tend to stand out more when there's less queens, imo (bitch, sugar, glitter & hello kitty were the best...I couldn't even tell you what the last two were :()

I think doing the ball at top 7 would be good. Enough looks to give it variety but not too many that 95% of them become forgotten.
With 12 queens one Look each is enough, but I’m excited anyway jusy hope it’s better than last seasons ball

the themes for this seasons runways seem very un-imaginative? buttons, bows, glitter, tulle.. they cant even say its so see how the queens interpret it because most of them use designers

Also, my newfound dislike for Brita isn't being helped by the fact that I've realised she reminds me of John Barrowman out of drag

I've only seen bits of the runways on Twitter but I am confused.

Rock served 2/3 good looks. Aiden served 0. Brita and Jackie (I'm sorry but that housewives runway was a tacky ugly costume, and her sports one made her look boxy and mannish :shrug:) served 1.

And Jaida's were better than Gigi's :shrug:

Widow and Aiden should have been at the bottom and that's all I can say about this episode.

Second lipsync in a row that is A COMPLETE MESS. Seriously, either the song choices are bad or the girls don't know how to lipsync anymore, but something needs to happen.

Gigi was my winner this week, her Heather's look was soooo good.

Didn't agree with who went home though. How wasn't Aiden bottom 2? She looked bad in all 3 of her looks

I guess Gigi's win was valid but idk she just bores me so much

If Rock hadn't have taken so long messily pulling her dress apart at the start she probably would've won

That episode was an improvement on last week's!

I actually enjoyed this ball because a lot of the queens did well. Nicky was my personal favourite, but I loved Gigi's looks too. The top three were justified, though I would have put Jan in the top three over Jaida. I really don't understand this Thorgy-esque storyline they're pushing with Jan where she's doing well but not getting the credit — it's a bit ****ty, really. Sherry also did a good job but her Balls to the Wall look was confusing (the Trunchball look was fantastic, however).

I also liked Crystal's runways, even though her make-up wasn't my cup of tea. I much prefer her abstract, OTT looks. Jackie and Heidi were fine; I don't remember any of Widow's looks, tbh. The bottom three were also the right choices, though. Aiden's were really basic and she should've been bottom two over Rock. Rock at least put effort into her designs/concepts, although the execution was a bit messy (her Basketball Wives could have been okay, but I agreed with Ross regarding the padding). Brita's outfits were uninspiring.

In general, I think this season is full of strong queens so eliminations are gonna hurt. Rock getting so upset was a real shame, you can tell how much it meant to her. It really should've been Aiden in the bottom, but I think they want to push an underdog storyline with her for some reason. Really wouldn't have been bothered if Brita had left, tbh. I still find her quite obnoxious.

Why does Aiden keep getting free passes?

If they wanna do an improvement storyline Rock M would've been a far better option. I don't see Aiden improving at all but watch them magically pretend like she has come on leaps and bounds.

the way Michelle was gagging over her first look was confusing to me

I’m not too sold on this season yet, unfortunately the Sherry Pie scandal has affected the series a little already but idk I’m just not really rooting for anybody besides Jaida yet. All the others I just cannot back as of yet.

Jaida should’ve won for sure, I wasn’t keen on Gigi’s second look at all, the shaping was a little odd. Aiden getting a free pass was a joke too, she needs to go ASAP. I can’t wait to watch Untucked though when it comes on Netflix though; I think it’ll be pretty decent (hopefully some good drama to come next week too).

On a side note, Leslie Jones may possibly be my favourite guest judge ever :love: Was so lovely seeing her get excited about absolutely everything <333

How was Widow not in the bottom?

Can’t stand Brita and Rock M was one of my favs. I fear we’re going to be left with the a-holes at the end with the personality queens (Rock M, Heidi, Nicky) going first

I've got 3 eps of Untucked to catch up with but yeah I'm having to torrent them as if it's 2013 or something :umm2:

The fact that All Stars is moving to ANOTHER different premium channel (Showtime) is just another sign that this franchise is prioritising money over drag.

As for this episode... it was a miss for me. No looks really tore my wig off and I'm a little over the "rich young white queen has access to a ton of fashion resources and succeeds" storyline.

Something I never thought I'd hear myself saying is that The Pit Stop is the best part of this season. But here we are!
