I hope you all clapped and maybe rang a bell or two.

I cried with emotion whilst doing it.

Strictly Jake 26-03-2020 07:06 PM

Suprised that pretty much my whole street joined in. Someone near even set off a couple of fireworks.

caprimint 26-03-2020 07:07 PM

Same...I thought the local travellers were outside the window galloping horses up the quiet road to start with so peered out...then I got a bit of elation thinking. Omg they have found a cure, we are all saved..

Then I remembered what I had saw on the news earlier about it and my heart sank..so i cried but clapped loudly.

You don't have to stand outside and clap to respect what the NHS are doing for **** sake

The NHS. .and we should do it tomorrow night and every night until this ends.it will give everyone a feeling of togetherness..whilst being apart.

Shaun 26-03-2020 07:16 PM

Why does everyone get so competitive about these things? Show your gratitude in whatever way you can, you don't have to take part in weird little public shows.

Some numpty around here even let off a couple of fireworks. Weirdo.

Kate! 26-03-2020 07:24 PM

I didn't go outside. Don't think anyone in our street did. Does not mean I don't respect the NHS wholeheartedly.

Shaun 26-03-2020 07:26 PM

I'll get Chumbawumba's Tubthumping on full blast next time it happens, don't worry lads

Vanessa 26-03-2020 07:28 PM

No, but I heard fireworks outside. Or was it gunshots ? D:

Strictly Jake 26-03-2020 07:30 PM

Whats the arguing about if you didnt you didnt

However a heck of a lot of the country did and it was a lovely thing to witness. Type in #NHS on instagram go on recent and look at the hundreds of videos. It makes us feel united in a time we need it and show our thanks to the true heroes

You have a window though surely.

Tom4784 26-03-2020 08:52 PM

I'm not bothered about engaging in virtue signalling that ultimately doesn't help the NHS workers. It's self congratulatory and about making yourself feel better rather than showing support for the NHS and I can't abide it.

If you care about the NHS and you want to do something meaningful, there are options, this doesn't really achieve anything other than personal satisfaction.

I applauded them from my desk alongside my work colleagues. I applauded them for their bravery...for going in and doing the job they do everyday only this virus puts them at enormous risk day in and day out. Many of them can’t even return to their families because of what they do. Many of us are safely tucked away at home in isolation..many of us go to work in fear of contacting it from a work colleague despite safety procedures in place. But these people go into work and help those affected...how brave is that.
What harm was it to applaud these people from the safety of your home...seriously.

LukeB 26-03-2020 09:36 PM

 to NHS and supermarket workers
