There a meeting on the 3rd April where this season will be deleted

Harry Kane said so

Denver 30-03-2020 11:13 PM

Harry Kane is a nonce

Scarlett. 30-03-2020 11:39 PM

Not too into football, but to void a whole season because of this would be pretty dumb and would make the last year of that league of football absolutely pointless.

michael21 31-03-2020 12:29 AM

karren brady also want this season vold

if Wimbledon is off, where two players are separated, its hard to see how the season can be restarted even behind closed doors

LeatherTrumpet 31-03-2020 07:26 AM

Same in Scotland please

Its neck and neck there, well Rangers have had to social distance themselves from Celtic as they are riddled with the Corona

Extend it into next season if needs be, just seems a really silly idea voiding all of that progress when you could either call it as it is now, or extend it into next year.

They can't call it as it is now as Liverpool are not over the line, and none of the bottom 3 are relegated  extending into the new season would be a no no I think, they might play it in June when the Euros would have started if there is a relaxation of rules, but if they want social distancing to still be a thing, playing football would not be a great example

bitontheslide 31-03-2020 09:36 AM

i would be surprised if sporting events resumed before september/october. That being the case, it already dipping in to the next seasons schedule, so i don't see how they could finish the old season first. The other thing is that many player contracts will end in May, and many clubs will probably have gone bust by the time play can resume. I don't see an alternative to voiding it. Also, people will be wanting a fresh start, not revisiting things that were put on hold months previously

michael21 31-03-2020 09:42 AM

Football is a business this season needs to be scrap then next season can go ahead as plan

Denver 31-03-2020 10:04 AM

I'd they cancel the season that have to pay ever single penny of the money back to Sky/BT ect which they wont

eh? why would they do that, its not like Sky and BT are going to reimburse those with Sky Sports subs

LeatherTrumpet 31-03-2020 10:26 AM

The season should be voided, its not fair but then neither is what we are suffering.

void and reset

Because if the season has been null and void it means companies have paid out billions for something that technically doesnt exist and the law would actually be on their sides plus it effects teams like West Bromand Leeds who are almost certain for promotion and a huge cash injection and Coventry whined the money from promotion.

A lot of lower down d
teams rely on competition money so if they are denied that how can they financially exist?

Also there is mo point starting a new season if you cant finish this one

like literally if companies pull that card in the current climate it would be incredibly bad PR and everyone would expect a full refund of their subs, that is not going to happen ...money paid to Clubs for the TV rights have been spent on players...give your head a wobble

This.

Just like the Championship promotion title next season will be ours.:joker:

The Slim Reaper 31-03-2020 12:25 PM

The rush to start a new competition when there is every chance this could well flare up again, is agenda driven and misplaced.

Yeah, I'm a Liverpool fan, but this is the same situation in the NBA, and he team I hate the most will probably win the championship. So scrapping seasons to start new ones doesn't make any sense, especially as the league will have to reschedule itself for the world cup in Qatar.

Massive companies refusing to pay other massive companies won't have any pr effect. I pay for a football package, and the tv companies have provided the service I pay for, so why are refunds even an issue?

rusticgal 03-04-2020 12:25 AM

They should just continue with the season when things get back to normal.

players need around 5 weeks to get fit, if they just start they will all get injuries

bitontheslide 03-04-2020 07:31 AM

one reason the premier league wont just void the season is they would have to pay back money to the tv companies even if it is the option that makes the most sense. Whichever way it goes, its going to be a mess
