New Zealand’s PM clarifies Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are still essential workers!

As they should be :clap1:

Hah, love it!

But remember - if you get cold, don't sleep with your head under the pillow. Tooth Fairy might get confused and use pliers to take them all.

This is only the second-darkest theory I've heard about the tooth fairy.

When my daughter was about 5 she asked what the tooth fairy does with the teeth, and I said, "Well, what do YOU think?" ... ... and she decided that she eats them. The tooth fairy EATS the ****ing teeth. I can't deal with that, it still haunts me.

Hah! No, she keeps them safe so people can't use black magic or voodoo on you :)

I think I was told she uses the teeth to build her castle. So a giant palace with huge walls around it all built with millions of rotting teeth actually frightened the life out of me.

I think lying to kids about those things existing is a bit outdated tbh.

Awww how sweet. When my nieces were little I loved the magic that this kind of thing brought into their lives. Can't wait till Asher is old enough... Nice to see people still trying to bring a little joy in this awful time.

:joker: it's from a limited horror series called "Candle Cove", a bit obscure/low budget (Syfy) but its creepy AF. Largely thanks to this toothy fella. It's not an ongoing thing, just one short season for the whole story, well worth looking up IMO (though full disclosure, we torrented it and I don't know if it actually streams legitimately anywhere).

 its not lying it's about imagination and all kids grow out of it, and nobody seems to suffer unduly from a bit of make believe

True, people picture all little pearly whites but my eldest had some awful teeth. Not rotten, but she went through a bad phase of grinding them at night, her top front teeth were tiny by the time they fell out. Gross. Luckily she stopped and her adult teeth are fine.

I agree with that, our policy was to go with it for as long as they believed but not "push it" (being honest as soon as the "... It's not real though is it") question came up. I do think some people push it too hard with the "Well if you dont believe, he won't come!" stuff when the kids have already pretty much figured it out.
