Covid 19 fraudsters and scammers

Just watching the One Show.

People have been getting text messages saying they are being fined for going out. They are then redirected and persuaded to give their bank details.

Police say they would not use this way of contacting people so please don't fall for this is the advice.

Terrible.

Unbelievable :bored: , far too many scams around. And they're taking advantage of the coronavirus.

There's been a few to do with this pandemic.

yes happens here in my country too

fraudsters ripping people off with ''masks'' ''gloves'' when you got to click on another link external to that site, they can see all of your important bank account numbers and stealing lots of money from you without you realizing it

and those masks, gloves you think you buy, they never arrive at your address

one of those sites already has been taken down here by authorities

it has some links to covid-19 will also mention it, more cybercrime activity too now here, one group of cybercriminals has been arrested in Germany, led by a 60 yr old dutch man also with intent of ripping off people using fake ads for covid-19 protection (masks, gloves, hand sanitizers)

Hit them hard. Fine them... and make them do hours and hours of community service.

A door to door scammer bought several thousand pounds worth of jewelry and ornaments from my mum when she was on disability and had had payments stopped and was desperate... Paid cash, when she told us and what she had sold we figured out the stuff was worth about 3x what he had paid. I was pretty furious.

It was probably LT.
