Love a bit of OC! But...

This is accurate andYou should definitely watch it. It was "The Other Big High-school Show" at around the same time as The OC (started slightly later, it was probably greenlit because of The OC's success).

I think it's streamable on Amazon Prime.

I wonder what happened to Mischa Barton.

Terrible actress but she was everywhere for a while.

Yah once I am done rewatching I plan on watching the two teen dramas I haven’t seen before (Buffy and OTH)

She was on the reboot of The Hills :umm2:

She became "a socialite" for a while but I feel like those sort of went extinct with the rise of social media?

I’m a fan - Ryan and Seth were great characters

Surprisingly agree with AJ that One Tree Hill is Better however. The women of The OC are very one dimensional and follow stereotypes, which isn’t the case with One Tree Hill

I agree. Also, Dan Scott is one of the greatest villains in TV history.

Although that said, Caleb Nichol is up there too :flutter:

Was OTH the one with Chad Michael Murray? My sister was obsessed with that when we were younger. I'm sure it used to air on T4 (throwback!!) for a time too.

Haven't seen OTH or the OC. Although I may do sometime in the coming weeks.

I plan to watch a lot of TV shows during lockdown.

I'm sure Smallville was still airing at the same time as OTH. That shows how old it is :omgno:

One Tree Hill is far superior.

Is OTH more comedy or dark?

A soap so probably neither.

I'm only halfway through the first season so can't speak for the entire show but it's more teen soap/drama.

It's like a less raunchy Sex Ed, they share some similar storylines as well.

One thing I always wondered is One Tree Hill just a quirky random town name or does their town/city have a hill with one tree on it? :hehe:

It’s more dark than The OC, some of the storylines go further / push boundaries / more extreme / shocking. But it also has good comedic moments. It’s a good drama coming of age series, but pushes more boundaries (without wanting to spoil any of the storylines, one in particular is very shocking, and I had no idea it was coming).

The character development of some of the characters Is fantastic also (in particular Brooke and Dan). I love The O.C also but I feel one tree hill is just a slightly better version to be honest once it gets past the basketball gimmick of the first few episodes

I watched the first two eps of oth on amazon prime and it was cute but the basketball stuff isn’t interesting

That dies out majorly after the first few episodes
