Germany follows the UK in approving a human trial after health secretary Matt Hancock announced scientists at Oxford University will begin testing a vaccine on people this Thursday.
Around 500 volunteers are expected to enrol in the programme by mid-May, with the British government pledging £20m to the research.
In China, early-stage human tests for two experimental vaccines were approved earlier this month, according to state media Xinhua.

I hope it's us, Germany Are working with Pfizer so if they get it they'll hold the world to ransom :/

Who is the UK working with? I doubt any of the big pharmas are going to behave differently unfortunately

The difference will be if its an academic team or a big pharma team that develops a (half decent) vaccine first.

Although I don't think Pharma would get away with price gouging under these circumstances.

I certainly hope they wouldn't anyway

the whole basis is that it is affordable world wide. If i were a betting man, i would say that the big pharmas will join forces in production and distribution. It's not every day they can make such a strong case for actually saving the world
