Adebayor refuses to help people in his home nation of Togo during Covid-19

He said he will not donate a penny and he doesnt care about the people and will do what he wants when he wants.

He has a wealth of over £36m and it comes after other African players donated a lot to help their countries.

It's very selfish especially when he has family there and it's not a rich country that can afford to do what's needed

Karma will bite him one day.

no, not selfish

i wouldn't get into attention of media (like a captain tom moore) because i hate these sort of things which drag you into centre of attention

if i would donate, i more would do it anonymously

its his money he can do what he wants, would you want to be told you had to donate to this or that? if he can live with his decisions, that is all that matters, its nothing to do with anyone else

There's a song there.

It's a very cold response from him imo.

Makes me wonder why it’s only footballers that are being held to ransom to hand over cash

I agree with you that Footballers shouldn't be made scapegoats over this pandemic, but still there's a way to respond that still shows compassion (especially to his fellow countrymen) and Adebayor just lacked any decency with his response imo.

Maybe I'm seeing it differently to Adebayor because I would try and financially help countries out if I had the amount of money that a Footballer has.
