Testing Centres and the uptake
The uptake has been pretty massive across the board, I listened to some guy on Nick Ferrari talk about the test, he attended the centre in his car, had the swabs etc, and got the result back and his test is positive, then he said he has no symptoms?????? so why was he being tested in first place given its for keyworkers with symptoms... how many more are doing this? I was literally screaming for Ferrari to actually say this ...but no..he just droned on about the test...how many more are doing this and denying a test to someone who has symptoms and wants clarification as to whether its Covid :suspect:

Yeah I don't think people without symptoms should necessarily be getting the test, unless they regularly visit an elderly relative or something.
The immunity test thing mentioned in yesterday's Mail on Sunday would make more sense. |

To be fair though, ideally we should be testing random population samples of people who are symptomatic, and some who are suspected to have been exposed but are not symptomatic, to get a better idea of the number of asymptomatic cases. It's vital data. But of course relies on there being a decent availability of tests.
I'm not sure what the point if of testing people with mild symptoms who "just want to know", unless it's because they could be back at work if they know they're covid negative. Knowing doesn't change the treatment pathway at all unless syou end up in hospital - at which point you'd be tested anyway. |

They could have been exposed possibly? Maybe if a work colleague had just gone into isolation it may prompt those as said who have vulnerable relatives to get tested.
