Have you ever taken a car back after a service?
I got my car serviced at the end of feb/beginning of march, which was the standard oil change etc, I ended up getting a few other things (2 new tyres bc the tread was low, smn else and new windscreen wipers)
Anyway, when she called me she was like, the ones that you have atm are smearing so we can swap them if you life, so I was like yeah ok and today is like the first time it’s been raining since I’ve swapped them and they’re still smearing?? Should I take the car back and ask them to fix them? |
The wipers that the garage used to put on my old car were always **** as well, really cheap crap ones, they were good for about a week or two. If you're getting her to replace them, ask her if they have a different type. Or maybe they actually forgot to replace them?

If you are not happy, yes of course take it back though I guess its not as easy to to that due to Covid restrictions

First, try cleaning your windshield thoroughly – dirt and grime can actually cause this annoying streaking and smearing.
Clean your wiper blades by wiping them down with warm, soapy water, and wipe the edge of the blade with rubbing alcohol or any spirit. If you’re still having issues with smearing water, try upgrading your wiper fluid. |
Oh ta LT I’ll do those first and then see about taking it back, I think car service places started up again on Monday
|
Mine were smearing because they were cheap and coming apart. Bosch ones from Halfords have proved to last though.

Don’t have Halfords here sweetie don’t be silly

Yeah I'd guess at something "contaminating" the windscreen, or bad screenwash.
If it is the wipers I'd say just swallow the cost (I'm assuming they didn't charge a lot for a couple of wipers??) and order some good quality ones off tinternets. |
