Anything by Anastacia - she’s pretty much gone unnoticed in American charts which I find incredible! Big star here in the UK at one time, for many years.

You’re welcome to add some more overseas accomplishments x

Jamelia - Superstar - peaked at #3 in the UK

- #1 in Australia, Czech Republic, New Zealand and Poland
- Platinum in Australia and New Zealand
- Appeared in games and soundtracks from around the world

Although Superstar charted higher elsewhere, it’s still one of the most recognised songs in UK pop culture

Always amazes me that ‘Lights’ by Ellie Goulding was the 5th most sold song in the USA in 2012

But the UK didn’t even put it in the top 40 for a single week

Karmin- Broken Hearted

It hit #6 in the UK and the only country it performed better in was New Zealand

#1 smash in the UK outrageously peaked at #70 in the US

The first 4 Cover Drive songs , despite not being British they only really found success in the UK with 3 of their songs hitting top 10 and one hitting #1

#1 in the UK in 2006, never charted in their homeland (USA). Scissor Sisters also never hit the charts back home, but had 10 top 40 singles here.

LaLaLand 08-02-2021 04:17 AM

^^ Remember when Scissor Sisters were MASSIVE here in the UK?

Almost everyone I knew owned their first album, including me!

This song came to my mind when I saw the Title of the thread

David Grey is one who was massive in Ireland and he credits his success here as the only reason he ever took off in the UK (despite being from there) White Ladder is still the biggest selling album in Ireland today
