Would be nice if garden centres could open. It'd be lovely to get lots of gardening done while on furlough, even better if I could be done by the summer :D

Tom4784 30-04-2020 12:30 PM

No, it just encourages people to defy the lockdown for pointless ****, social distancing will not be observed because it isn't being observed now. Most shops I go (including my own work place) into have those distancing stickers everywhere but most of them aren't even spaced a meter apart, never mind two.

I agree I feel it’s just encouraging people to go out for the wrong reasons and I don’t think it’s really fair on the workers either tbh. One thing I’ve noticed in my work is the amount of people that just doddle in there. They don’t just go in there and get what they need, they just stand around staring at stuff that they don’t end up buying.

But During Lockdown
many want to Paint
and fix their Garden.

Yes Dezzy there are photos showing they are not paced out
proper in some branches
that must get corrected by the staff
(with Masks and gloves on)

The GBP is not going to boycott Wetherspoons, Cherie. You're talking crazy talk. Especially not Wetherspoons patrons. They don't even know about Covid, because most of them can't actually read.

I know a few garden centres over here are doing online/phone orders and then a pick up service, that's probably a safer option imo

Saph 30-04-2020 01:00 PM

ew who goes to wetherspoons TRASH!

Don't hold your breath arista, what Mr Martin wants and what mr Martin gets could be very different.

He told all his staff to work for tesco didn't he?

I don't think its a bad thing to gradually open up stores, rather than all of them opening in one hit, B n Q is essentially a builders merchants and construction is open

Not sure where you shop Dezzy I have been to just two shops during lockdown, Sainsburys and M and S and both had the required 6 step stickers and if this is not happening in your store are you accepting that?????

Tesco staff are not adhering to this with each other in my big one. My work is v strict and it a cardinal sin to break this rule, people willshout at you.

I like Wetherspoons :hehe: but he treated his staff so badly ...but then if we don't go back they wont have a job so its a toughie :fist:

As I have family who are self employed and rely on hardware stores for supplies or they just can’t do any work and support their families. I support them reopening, although possibly they could do it in phases with self employed workers being the first to gain access as for them it is essential items. I don’t know how this would be assessed however.

Crimson Dynamo 30-04-2020 01:18 PM

Maybe just open B in May and Q inJune?
