Have you ever been barred from somewhere?

Probably been a thread before but the thought just entered my mind that I - luckily - have never received a ban from a nightclub/bar/restaurant despite some less than pleasant encounters in my teenage years  Anyone not so lucky?

(I imagine such bans aren't THAT long since management will change/forget over time but still, ever been thrown out? Had a picture on the wall? Done a bit of shoplifting?)

First person to reply "I got banned from TiBB for a week once" gets a lifetime ban from my attention.

I was barred from a club for 4 weeks for smoking.

Crimson Dynamo 07-05-2020 05:58 AM

Yes an Italian cafe for bending a spoon

Kate! 07-05-2020 06:06 AM

Yes a pub for lighting beermats and letting them burn in the ashtray.

JerseyWins 07-05-2020 07:01 AM

RileyH has, the troublemaker

From my town centre for 48 hours for scrapping in the street...iconic

MTVN 07-05-2020 09:31 AM

First time I ever went into town I was 17 and got kicked out of a club for being underage, had my brothers id which got me through the door but it was then checked again at the bar where the guy didn't believe it and then I slipped up when they asked me my date of birth. Quite unlucky really as I've never been ID'd a second time once inside a place and I used that ID a few times in the following months and never had any problems. The bouncers were doubly pissed off with me because they'd originally stopped me from going in because of my trainers, had to have my mate come out and lend me the shoes from someone already in there so I got in with those and then changed back to my trainers once inside. Next time the bouncers see me I'm getting kicked out for being underage and back wearing my inappropriate footwear

They told me not to come back but wasn't really barred as such, went back there again when I was still 17 with no problems (and no trainers). Don't think I've ever even been kicked out of anywhere apart from that although have had to leave places several times because my liability friends have

Yes for sneaking into a nightclub when I was 14

Does that really count as being barred when technically all 14 year olds are barred from Night Clubs?

Shamefully yes but at the time I thought I was a badass.

First time, we celebrated a win with my rugby team in a nightclub and obviously got wasted. I didn't even take part of the fight that some other dudes started over the VIP section, but I got caught up in the middle of it and all of us got banned for 6 months from the club. We knew the owner had a coffee place downtown so we got there wearing t-shirts printed with "VIP section forever" on them :skull: I was 17 and felt invincible.

Second time, I wasn't even drunk, I was exhausted from exams week but still joined my friends at the club (not the rugby ones this time!). And some dude tried to rob my wallet while I was dancing, so I may or may not have followed him to the toilets only to maybe throw an ashtray at him
Anyway, bad timing because the security guard was taking a piss and saw everything. So yeah, life ban for me. I was 19 and at the time I felt like it was the only way to get back at him for trying to steal from me. I was mad, exhausted and really shocked.
Little does he know, I slept with his boyfriend months later and I heard he was mad as hell. (I didn't know he was in a relationship so that doesn't count lmao)

I also have had to leave places several times because my friends were acting way too insane. Thankfully I stopped the nightlife at 24.

From three local taxi companies

One for calling an operator a cünt, one for my FRIEND (not even me) being sick in and one for arguing with a driver about an AUX lead.

Daniel-X 07-05-2020 10:08 AM

Oh and from McDonalds once for drinking vodka in there when I was about 15. I don’t think it was a proper ‘barring’ though, more just an empty threat.

Captain.Remy 07-05-2020 10:11 AM

Oh and by the way, the craziest places I've been to were in British pubs while I lived there. Man, you sure do take things to a whole another level over beers, Fish and chips and football :joker:

We all have THAT friend though :joker: It happened to me too in Dublin but didn't get ban hopefully.

Never because I can talk myself out of anything :smug:

The Archway Tavern London, owned by a venomous Kerryman, I did go back about two years later and he rebanned me, apparently I was too lippy, he didn't do it himself sent his bouncer who was very apologetic, I mean who doesn't get carried away dancing to a live band after a few shandies :hee:

:laugh2:

Did you ever have a drink in the Hi-B bar in Cork City Cherie? I was actually going to post that I had never been barred/kicked out of anywhere but I forgot about this place and your story about the owner reminded me. The owner of the Hi-B is notorious for kicking people out for no apparent reason, the one and only time I went in there years ago with an ex-boyfriend we got kicked out when he went to the bar for a second drink but had nothing smaller than a €50 to pay with

Beso 07-05-2020 11:48 AM

Once for standing on a table and pissing.

The Slim Reaper 07-05-2020 11:59 AM

Just the standard "not allowed with 100ft of school playgrounds" that everybody gets.

Kate! 07-05-2020 12:11 PM

I forgot. I am also banned from a local taxi company.
