Animal Crossing: New Horizons
I keep hearing an awful lot about this game and how great it is to play during the lockdown.
I'm tempted to buy, but would love to read your comments on it first. |
You should just get a glass jar and go outside collecting bugs irl instead
|
My bf is OBSESSED but I really don’t get the hype
“It’s like minecraft for bottoms” honestly sums it up |
I'm getting it on Wednesday, I am so excited.
|
It's okay, quite peaceable, I can see why it's addictive. I prefer Ark- you don't have to talk to annoying rats, and there are dinosaurs around you can tame! Otherwise they're similar, as it's an "open world" where you can turn an island into whatever you want, using the resources there.
|
It's very sweet and satisfying. The only complaint I have with it is that after about 3 weeks you're left wondering "...what do I do now?"
|
I've been playing for a few days and it's good!

I... haven't done that but ok.

I love it. After the storyline you can still collect all the bugs, get your town looking great and dig for fossells.
|
I've not time travelled either (and even stopped upgrading my island for a few days to focus on Bullying Plucky off my island) and I got the ending yesterday after a month or so of playing.

We picked this up on Saturday and it's so addictive.
I haven't flown to any other islands yet, because i've been so busy weeding, chopping tree's, catching bugs, fish and earning bells (money), but i'm really enjoying it so far. Can't wait to see what it has in store today for me today. I think Blathers museum may be built by now. |
I'm not sure how i'm supposed to forage 30 iron nuggets when there's very few rocks to break open. Maybe I can get these from another island?

Seriously obsessed with this game. Although, it's turning me into a lazy bitch - I haven't done a shred of housework all day long. |

The thing with AC is you can never complete it. Look at the 5 star islands on Youtube, if you finish the game in a month I bet your island doesn't look like those unless you play 5 hours a day.

She also has a friend who invited her to their island and I swear literally every single square has been curated. I feel like this game encourages OCD. Its all quite freeform/emergent really and a lot of the appeal is the social aspect. We visited my sister in law together and I've seen people have "parties" :joker:. My personal main goal in the game is to collect as many bizarre outfit combinations as possible and then aggressively wear them at people. My current fav is a scruffy blonde haircut, gold aviators, beard, raspberry coloured tweed jacket and t shirt combo, tiger print skirt (ahem, its a kilt) and red boots. Sometimes I then pop on a raspberry coloured beret... So that I can shout RAAASPBERRY BERET at people. Though I'm also a fan of the red fairytale dress, balloon hat and thick rimmed square glasses combo :flutter: |
I bought the balloon hat  I also popped a balloon and got some gorgeous tiara wig!

I didn't play AC yesterday, but when I do I'll certainly try that. |
I've been playing for over a week now, I absolutely adore it. Anyone want to be friends?
|
replaced one of my OGs (Tammy) with a new islander called Rooney today, I would feel bad but I need a cranky type on my island tbh
|
So far I have Cherry, Biff, Nate, Ketchup and Skye. I don't really love Skye but Idk, they might grow on me. Nate and Cherry are my favourites right now!.
|
Look up Mitzi, Jessica... I think you would like her. I have her on my island and she is the best. Sooooo cuuuuuuteeee
