A Dorset police constable has been charged with the murder of a woman who was found strangled in a pub car park.

Timothy Brehmer allegedly attacked Claire Parry - believed to be his lover - before self-harming.

Married father-of-one Brehmer was arrested at the scene of the incident, the car park of the Horns Inn in Christchurch Road, West Parley.

He was found lying slumped nearby bleeding from wounds to his arms, reports said.

According to The Sun, the pair were allegedly lovers and Brehmer had cycled 18 miles from his home to meet Mrs Parry.

Dorset Police were called to the car park at 3.39pm on Saturday after a report from the ambulance service of two people needing medical assistance.

Mrs Parry, said to be a nurse married to another policeman, was taken to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital for medical treatment.

Sadly she died in hospital the following morning.

For god sake, how can a police constable be capable of murder when he should be trying to solve these things.
