ITV to air The Masked Singer USA Season 2

Staring in July, they’ll be airing episodes every Saturday Night. An interesting move, I guess they’ve just ran out of content?

Not going to be as fun to play along seeing as the results are out there and we don’t know most of them

12 of the 16 names will be recognised to some extent in the UK. Probably not people we’d guess from the clue packages, but people when they’re unmasked we’ll potentially recognise them.

Probably to fill the BGT gap?

arista 21-05-2020 11:18 AM

Thats a good idea
it was also a mega hit out there.

Import more USA shows
precovid.

Yes lots of shows on halt
Good on ITV1HD
doing imports.

Nicky91 21-05-2020 11:26 AM

yes our dutch tv channels like RTL4, RTL5 also do air shows from US when they lack content (mostly during summers basically) we had first of the AGT: the champions here last summer

while RTL5 had american idol, few seasons of that airing last couple of years here too

whilst SBS6 airs shows from UK like escape to the country, masterchef uk

Net5 puts focus on australian tv shows rights like House Rules Australia, Masterchef Australia, My Kitchen Rules

back on topic, my point being it is Always a good move to purchase rights to foreign tv shows when you lack content yourself to fill some gaps

i'd say contact us dutch for The Mole airing rights  you can also put english subtitles with them i guess, same how one does that on youtube

That's a strange one I thought season 1 would have more recognisable viewers to the UK.

Season 2 had better singers though I guess but they were both good I guess, standard a lot better than the most recent series ngl.

btw I can't find a source where'd you get this?

And not forgetting some people probably won't know the results.

Most people, but with a few exceptions I think most singers will be unrecognisable to a lot of UK viewers (particularly older ones)

I heard it will air from June - August on twitter? I think it could be as soon as next Saturday possibly with BGT finishing. I wonder what sort of time slot they'll give it?

Possibly then. I’m assuming they’re having this as their summer entertainment so it’ll take the 8pm slot?

James 26-05-2020 08:09 PM

Looking at the cast list, I've heard of 6 or 7 of the names out of 16. I'd imagine most people in the UK know only 2 or 3 reasonably well.

Saturday 6th June
4:40-6:30PM

They was never gonna give it that slot as Alan Carr took it,the slot now fits in with all the other American imports they had for Saturday tea time

Like what? examples? or do you mean movies etc.

People were getting exited over this as apparently there hadn't been any US Imports on Saturday night primetime since Baywatch.
