Hopefully, those getting tired of these polls every week are the same sort of people to get placated by a little drizzle of nostalgia from when they were only twenty years old :hehe:

180 chart-toppers have been arranged into nine groups of 20. For now, only the 5 highest-placing songs will proceed to the Quarter Finals, but I think it'd be better to have these whittled down to a round 60 so I might just tamper with that... hmm... quick bit of maths... OK so six will definitely qualify for the QFs per round, and then the six songs with the highest "non-qualifying" scores will join them. That seems fair.

All of that is for me to fret over; all you need to do is to vote for your favourite six singles here.

I felt Madonna and Whitney were likely easy qualifiers and so voted for some others. 'Easy Lover' deserves to do well for being the sample for Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music" alone :hmph:

Bowie, T'Pau, Pet Shop Boys, Culture Club, Madonna and the two Phils are definitely through to the Quarter Finals, although Whitney & KC and the Sunshine stand a good chance of joining them when I go back over the rounds to look for a "best loser" to make up numbers :spin2:
