Murder in the Outback (C4 Documentary)

Started watching this before, it’s very reminiscent of Making a Murderer on whether or not the right man has been convicted.

I’m only halfway through Ep 2 but Joannes interview where she can’t remember stuff is very... unusual :eyes:

I can understand her either forgetting or simply erasing some of the details considering her traumatic experience.

I lost interest as the first episode heavily featured that defence lawyer who seemed too slack with the details.. and grossly exaggerated many things ..

Surely you have to stick to facts when making judgements or assessments..

They were driving through a busy area where there were literally hundreds and hundreds of vehicles .. .. he started counting how many vehicle there were like the ‘murderers truck’ and counted just THREE and then said “ look every other vehicle is similar to his “

How does 3 out of 200+ equate to ‘every other one’ ??

He also interviewed a truck driver who said he had a good ‘lofty’ view from his truck and the defence lawyer said “ yes you were about 15’ off the ground when you were approaching the incident “

15’ is the height of the gutters around a typical British house !!

She was high on very strong weed at the time of the “abduction” which is why she couldn’t remember anything

In Ep 3 they interview a guy who swears blind he saw peter two days later too :omgno:

I honestly don’t know what to believe, each story has their own facts and lies. I’m most fascinated by the fact he’s still alive. With Joanne what caught me the most is that when she “ran away” she didn’t run far and if the attacker had a dog surely it would of caught her. Something don’t add up the affair doesn’t help either

Omg the film on this with Joanne Froggatt always scared me as a kid and I watched it again earlier in lockdown so I’m gonna perch this!

I’m guessing the fact she was high and it was dark + you’d be terrified in that situation 10 seconds could I guess feel like ten minutes. IA re the dog, but then the fact there was that other shady guy at the hotel who joked about shooting a dog and then the police found a shot dog matching the description she’d given close by was :umm2:

What I found even more odd was that she had no scratches/dust or dirt on her front after she’d been thrown to the ground.

She,was cagey with police and media as she was having can affair and did not want to be exposed As the hateful bitch she was to the gen public cand his family

Almost finished with this. I’ve been familiar with the case for quite a while and never knew about the aspect of the other guy with long hair and same truck who shot his dog. That’s fishy.

Fair enough I forgot about the dope. Wasn't Joanne in the same hotel bar at the same time though, so she surely could of recognised the mystery man or maybe she was so shocked she didn't take notice of him which would make it even more creepy. Yeah I thought that as well and the DNA as well.

I don't know there's lots to unpack with this story.

Yeah she was, they mentioned that (in Ep 3 I think) but I think the shock of it all and that, you wouldn’t believe that the perpetrator would be staying in a local hotel

ALSO what about Jelly man the trucker mentioned, all very confusing

Why spend four hours on something when I’d lost all confidence in the main guy (defence lawyer) after about 20 minutes ..

He wasn’t the defendants lawyer, he was just looking at the case from a fresh perspective

But he was a defence lawyer and he was ‘driving’ the program along .. I didn’t like him or his ideas
