Thoughts on Nasty Nick?

So I've just seen the first of the classic eps which was really interesting because I'd never seen anything from BB1. Wonder if there's many people on here who were watching it at the time and what their reaction was then?

Watching it now his plan seems pretty dumb and one that would always be found out. He also seemed totally unable to articulate any reasoning or defence when confronted with it and it was a bit weird how he was just staring at Mel silently when she was trying to help him after. He basically just didn't seem that sharp. Was he actually any good as a housemate before this? I remember him as being pretty boring on UBB but that was obviously a long time after

Also when did books get banned and how did they know it was being watched by millions when it was the very first series

I've always found him boring... slightly fascinating at the least (such as the lie about his wife dying in a car crash) but rather dull, especially on UBB.

He was an awkward guy...felt sorry for him really. You would have thought he had killed someone...

His interview with Davina was interesting as he seemed unable to articulate his actual plan/reasons. Either that or he felt shame if he said "yeah it was for the prize money" because he insisted the prize money meant nothing to him.

Yeah I think basically his legend is much bigger than he is as what he did wasn't that clever and he wasn't that interesting but the idea that 'its only a gameshow' has stuck since

I'd forgotten about the wife lie which is much messier than the nomination stuff actually and again strange behaviour as it's something that can easily be uncovered, has the mark of a pathological liar

The bit with Mel in the bedroom was really weird, I agree.

I enjoyed him on BB1 a lot he was kind of a weird pathetic villain which was fun to watch, on UBB I can’t remember him really.
