What are Cinema's near you showing when they reopen?

Ours are allowed open from today. The one nearest to me is showing

Joker
The Greatest Showman
1917
The Conjuring
The Lego Movie
Onward
Peter rabbit
Sonic the Hedgehog
Spider man Homecoming

Seen them all bar Onward, I was really looking forward to getting back to the cinema, think I'll wait for some new films though

I would like one cinema to go super dark, and only play pandemic/end of the world movies.

That would be hilarious but probably not great for business

I can't even remember the last time I went to the cinema. The last film I remember was that Kristen Stewart/Angelina Jolie snow white film. The huntsman I think it was called, and that was out just before the London Olympics. I really struggle with cinema seats, and my legs just seize up completely.

Oh I've really missed the Cinema, literally the only thing I actually missed during Lockdown :hehe:

I'm the same. I used to love jumping on the bus on my days off and watching a film by myself. :flutter:

LukeB 30-06-2020 12:44 PM

Sonic
Onward
Bad Boys For Life
Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
Goodfellas
The Shawshank Redemption
Back to the Future trilogy

Nicky91 30-06-2020 12:47 PM

cinema's here are also gonna show some classics too

what is now currently popular in the cinema, lack of new content

both the first movies of

Jurassic Park

Jaws

the former's franchise also does still well on our tv channels, each summer being shown all of them 1-5 :clap1:

Booksmart
Dirty Dancing (30th Anniversary)
Just Mercy
La La Land
Onward
Parasite
Queen & Slim
Sonic The Hedgehog

MTVN 30-06-2020 01:16 PM

Was looking forward to going a couple of times week after next when I've got a week off but Cineworld have just pushed their reopening date back to July 30th because they say they've nothing to show :fist:

bitontheslide 30-06-2020 01:16 PM

Because you prefer watching at home or because you'd be nervous about Covid19?

bitontheslide 30-06-2020 01:18 PM

all the latest releases were pushed out on streaming services

I really only go to see new films, but I am going to feel a bit nervous sitting in an enclosed public space again, not going to lie.

I quite want to see Sonic mind you out of those, but I wouldn't go to a cinema for that lol.

Yeah, I will be a bit nervous too tbh, I'm just going to see how things go in the next 2 weeks now we've more or less completely reopened

I enjoyed Sonic

I like 90s Jim Carrey, so wanted to see it for him

A few years ago they had a drive-in cinema at a harbour locally, showing Jaws and a couple of other films. I wanted to go to that, but I didn't have a car then

That would have been excellent  Yeah they have a place that does drive through here sometimes but I never gone, it's definitely something I need to do at some point though

Niamh. 13-07-2020 10:02 AM

I went to see The Conjuring on Friday, I've seen it before but never on the big screen and it's one of the best horrors I think, really enjoyed it

Toy Soldier 13-07-2020 10:10 AM

No info on what they'll be showing other than vague examples on the website (Vue). One they mention is Interstellar though, which I would absolutely see in the cinema again if they show it. Because the sound production was absolutely stunning in the cinema and isn't recaptured at all in home release, no matter how good a sound system you have. I'd literally be going to re-experience that, more than for any other aspect of the film.

In fact if anyone hasn't seen it or didn't catch it in the cinema first time round, I'd consider it a must for any cinema fan.

This didn't happen.

Oh just checked the listings for this week and the 3 Matrix films are in one of the cinemas near me. Luke loves those and he never got to see them in the cinema because he wasn't even born when they came out  Definitely going to see the first one this week

MTVN 13-07-2020 10:24 AM

I was looking earlier and it seems Showcase are the only ones who have reopened near me. They've actually got loads of films on:

Sonic
1917
A Star Is Born
Back to the Future
Beauty and the Beast
Bohemian Rhapsody
Deadpool
Fantastic Beasts
Grease
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
IT
Jurassic World
La La Land
Mamma Mia
Parasite
Peter Rabbit
Pulp Fiction
Star Wars V
Shawshank Redemption
The Matrix
The Shining

I might go watch Pulp Fiction although they're only doing one showing a day of most of them and it's in the evening, prefer an afternoon slot

The second one is just as good if you haven’t seen that yet

Smithy 13-07-2020 10:50 AM

Here they’re showing

Jurassic Park
The Goonies
Star Wars V
Black Water: Abyss
Love Sarah
Mick Fleetwood and Friends :conf2:
Michael Ball & Alfie Boe: Back Together :conf2:

Don’t know why they’ve reverted to showing old films, a few weeks ago they were showing Birds of Prey, The Invisible Man, 1917...
