How long do you wake up before you need to go out?

I'd usually be up about 1-2 hours before, can't stand being last minute and rushing to do things

Smithy 06-07-2020 09:31 AM

If I had to be somewhere FOR half 8 I’d probably get up 45 minutes beforehand, if I had to leave AT half 8 I’d probably get up at 8 o clock

Niamh. 06-07-2020 09:33 AM

It depends what time I have to go out at, If I'm getting up for work, I probably get up 45min-1 hour beforehand

Crimson Dynamo 06-07-2020 09:43 AM

45 mins for work. Shower, eat, do dogs

i don't work but still answering the poll, my morning routine

basically each morning i first stay in bed, tv on (usually at Investigation Discovery or RTL for GutenMorgen Deutschland)

and usually around 8, get out of bed for breakfast, some of laundry i first fold and taking towels downstairs with me etc

and then after breakfast my day of chores begins

- washing plates, cups, knives/spoons

- sometimes i do vacuum cleaning (first months of this year i did this whenever my mom and dad went grocery shopping together, whenever too dangerous for my nan to go grocery shopping in terms of whole covid situation)

- cleaning my room every monday, every 2 weeks changing my bedding

- and whenever weather is nice, dry i can go outside work in garden

- hanging up new laundry to dry (yes we do those each day  welp)

and everytime around 16:00 i go help my nan with cooking (first months of this year i didn't, my sort of sacrifice i made for safety, in light of social distancing from elderly relatives thing)

My alarm is set for 1 hour 45 mins before I need to leave for work

Babayaro. 06-07-2020 11:32 AM

Ideally anywhere between 1-3 hours. I hate rushing too and like to fit a morning workout in before leaving for work. Ironically though, I always end up rushing about anyway lol.

Put it this way I got up at 11am for a funeral at 11.50 10 mins away and I was 10 mins late :/
( I was on nights last night) :(
Got lost, horrible day.

DouglasS 06-07-2020 11:55 AM

Alarm is usually at 7:30am and I leave about 50 minutes later. Have a 10 minute lie in, then shower, breakfast, brush teeth and chill out for 40 minutes

Shaun 06-07-2020 06:37 PM

I'd sometimes do work in under half an hour but ideally around 45 minutes.

When I'm not furloughed  up at 6, brew, shower, wake up my son, get his breakfast, straighten hair, makeup, dressed, make packed lunch, check school bags and other needed equipment, out the door by 7.25

When furloughed.....no routine sadly

JerseyWins 06-07-2020 08:41 PM

1-2 hours. Pretty much an hour & a half usually which is enough time to do everything while still being able to chill a bit while I’m still feeling tired af

Marsh. 06-07-2020 09:08 PM

I wake up about an hour after arriving in work.

Captain.Remy 06-07-2020 09:10 PM

1 hour and 30 minutes because I'm slow in the morning and need my time to do some workout, eat etc I can't be rushed or I'm the worst manager in the universe that day.

If it's by choice and to be out at a humane hour, 2+ hours. I like a long shower to wake up :hee:. Even when I was at school, I used to get up at 5.45 for the 8.15 bus :umm2:.

Howeverrr, when I was doing time as a bookies manager... we opened at 8am so my start time was 7.40, which meant leaving the house at 7am... and often not getting home until 11pm. So I would sleep from like 1am - 6.30am and then quickly shower and dress and get to work, set up, and then sit there drinking coffee and sobbing as the first customers rolled in.

Oh and in my final student days, I would sometimes get up at 3.30pm to start work (pub chef) at 4pm, work 'til 11pm, meet my friends at the union and get home at 6am. So ****ing unhealthy :joker:

Take me a bit to wak up

Tom4784 03-10-2020 09:21 PM

I work later on in the day and unless I have something planned for earlier, I'll always get up at 10.30AM.

If I'm going out first thing when I wake up, I'll need like 15 mins and I'm ready to go. I'm pretty adept at the ol' Superman change.
