RIP Naya Rivera

Actress Naya Rivera was presumed dead after her unaccompanied 4-year-old son was found floating on a boat on Lake Piru in Ventura County Wednesday, authorities said.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department said it responded to a report of the toddler alone on a boat around 4:48 p.m. Officers on scene found the child, but no information was immediately released about the child's condition.

A dive team and air unit were deployed in response, the VCSD said.

The department was investigating a possible drowning associated with the child.

The actress and singer went swimming and the boy got back into the boat but the mother did not, the sheriff's department said. The boy had a life vest but the mother did not, officials said.

Divers were searching for the mother of the 4-year-old, who was found alone in a pontoon boat about three hours after it was rented.

...oh Lord.....and her son was with her, he’s okay though...just awful...

I was about to fall asleep and checked the internet before bed...

I feel sick. I absolutely ****ing loved her growing up. She was a huge part of me coming to terms with my sexuality

I’m shaking and hoping she’s alive and this isn’t some sort of stunt or something g

...strangely, my thoughts went straight to you because when I first started to post here...?...you were Naya and Claudia was Heather...(...you know what I mean, I didn’t actually think you were them but........)...

Ammi 09-07-2020 06:04 AM

...does it feel sometimes as though Glee is a bit ‘jinxed’ with its cast...

...I know it was.....don’t feel dumb, it’s anything but dumb to feel the sadness you’re feeling right now when she felt such a part of your growing and understandings of yourself......there are people I feel exactly the same about...

Firewire 09-07-2020 06:47 AM

Heartbreaking.

I’m in shock.

Tony Montana 09-07-2020 07:05 AM

This is truly heartbreaking.

I pray she’s found alive and well. :fc:

Omg :(

Nicky91 09-07-2020 08:37 AM

one thing i do not understand, why didn't she wear a life vest herself, while her son had a life vest

and isn't this what you'd normally think about first of all, also to wear a life vest yourself when ur at the water

Same, I don't understand why she wasn't wearing a vest.
When her son was wearing one

Smithy 09-07-2020 09:19 AM

God this is awful, I hope she’s found alive

If I went swimming I wouldn’t wear a life vest

She probably thought as a strong swimmer she wouldn't need one.

Hoping she is found safe. So heartbreaking for her son and family.

Niamh. 09-07-2020 09:45 AM

Yeah I wouldn't wear a life jacket if I was going swimming

Smithy 09-07-2020 09:51 AM

Especially in a lake where there isn’t really a current

Samm 09-07-2020 09:53 AM

I think pretty much any adult wouldn't think twice about not wearing a vest and put one on your son though, what's there not to understand.

Hope she's found safe and well.

Amy Jade 09-07-2020 09:55 AM

That is awful, I hope she's somehow found. What a horrible situation!
