Emmerdale legend Paula Tilbrook dies age 89

she played Betty for 21 years and died of natural causes

Denver 15-07-2020 02:19 PM

She apparently died in December

arista 15-07-2020 02:34 PM

Good it was not Covid-19.

A great Old Actor,
will be missed.

Cherie 15-07-2020 02:36 PM

I wonder why they never acknowledged it at the time

RIP Betty!

Why are they only mentioning it now?!?

Eight* months for the show to acknowledge one of its biggest and most beloved characters? I know there's privacy but that's surprising.

Bizarre isn't it, was it to do with the Australian storylines?

bots 15-07-2020 02:43 PM

it's all news agencies, so i guess her relatives or carers didn't think to tell anyone until now

Doesn't look to good on ITV if that is the case that they never checked on her well being during lockdown especially as they still reference Betty in the soap!

Oh I loved her when I watched EE

smudgie 15-07-2020 03:57 PM

I am sure I heard about her death ages ago.

I don't think it reflects on ITV at all. The family obviously, for whatever reasons, didn't want to make the news public at the time.

LaLaLand 15-07-2020 06:46 PM

Aw RIP legend!

Cherie 15-07-2020 07:33 PM

Betty referenced again tonight
