Which Mobile Phone Network do you use?

What mobile phone network is everyone on and how good is the service?

I need to change providers soon. I’ve seen 3 have unlimited data for £18 a month which would be perfect but I’m not too sure how their coverage etc is?

Tesco. Had no problems with them.

Daniel-X 02-08-2020 01:36 PM

Virgin provide mine and my contract is currently £35 a month for an iPhone 11 with 8G of data, unlimited texts and calls and AirPods. The service is actually pretty good, I rarely ever have issues with it.

3 are atrocious don't do it!

UserSince2005 02-08-2020 01:39 PM

Vodafone, only choice when you live in london, the networks of the others (maybe not EE) is awful here.

UserSince2005 02-08-2020 01:42 PM

Three are a scam,
and dont trust their unlimited offer,
i had 60GB with them,
and their 4g speeds was so slow I had to constantly be on 3g and barely used 2GB of my 60GB allowance that i was paying for.
They are a complete scam.

Virgin 8GB for £10 a month and unlimited everything else

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 02-08-2020 01:47 PM

And i never use the 8GB and bc it rolls over every month i always end up with like 18GB (idk how this is possible because it resets after each rollover so the maximum amount i ahould have is 16GB but yeah)

Virgin who recently moved to EE on a sim only deal, unlimited calls and texts plus 10g data for 10.00

Kate! 02-08-2020 01:56 PM

Giffgaff sim. Works on the 02 network. 80gb data plus unlimited texts and calls for 20 quid a month.

AnnieK 02-08-2020 02:14 PM

EE...never had any issues in 20+years with them from when it was Orange

Dogeatdog 02-08-2020 02:16 PM

I’m on O2 after being with EE for like 5+ years. Got an IPhone 11 with 50GB of data, Unlimited mins and texts for £40 a month. Tbh both networks have been really good for me personally. I’ve heard bad things about 3 and Vodafone so I’ve always avoided contracts through them.

Had Tesco for the past 2 years and they're great. Of the others I've tried: Virgin were terrible, 3 were not good at all but this was when they were still kinda new and I gather they've improved, and Vodafone were fine.

Mine is called WTF but I'm not in the UK so it doesn't matter. :hee:

Crimson Dynamo 02-08-2020 06:29 PM

vodafone as i am not a nincompoop

user104658 02-08-2020 10:43 PM

3 speeds are good and their 4g coverage in towns and cities is better than most - however they have more gaps in their rural network than EE or O2, as I found out when we went on a little log cabin break recently. My signal dropped out completely once we were about an hour from the nearest large town, my wife (O2) still had 3g out in the middle of nowhere. BUT within towns I consistently have full bars 4g whereas hers can be up and down.

So it depends really. If you mostly stick to civilization, 3 is great. If you tend to go off the beaten track a bit you might lose coverage.

Voda

3 are awful, coverage is appalling

LaLaLand 02-08-2020 10:52 PM

Josy 03-08-2020 07:28 PM
