John Cleese on Extremism
|
:laugh2:
so true |
Yes Its 30 years old.
But what has changed? |
1:35 "Weirdos" ... is that who I think it is?!
Yes I know he was on "demonstrators" but it's funnier this way |
Perfect.

He's not wrong

The problem with the 'both sides' argument is that it's not applied equally. It's less about both sides being as bad as each other and making out that one side is the same as the worse side to make it look worse than it actually is.
The reason why I laugh in the face of the 'both sides' argument is because it's often used by people in bad faith. There are few times in life where one side is truly as bad as the other. |
It's not really about equivalence or comparison in my view... Extremes are bad full stop. One sides views may be objectively worse than the other but that's really a separate debate to the simple act of "being extreme about stuff" - and that's where it stops being about one side being better/worse/whatever than the other. It's different flavours of the same mindset.

You ain't much of an extremist if you are just pretending.
He knows the left well. |
The funniest part was when he said the Right were anti-Russia, as they rely on them to win elections and fund them these days.
