Wayne Fontana R.I.P

I've read this morning of the death of sixties star Wayne Fontana.
Who has died aged 74.

Quite a character he appears to have been.

I'm 28 but have come to adore sixties music and have acquired a massive collection of sixties music of artistes of the time.

I have on CD all Wayne's recordings from his time with the Mindbenders and their major hit of course was The Game of Love.
Which Ant and Dec recorded years ago too.

Also his really impressive and varied solo work.
With songs like Come On Home and Pamela Pamela.

There's a real gem among his single releases, 24 Sycamore, which should have been a massive hit.

I love this guy's voice.
He seems to have been extremely underrated as his songs were both impressive as to lyrics and melody.

So sad to learn of his passing, I saw him in a Solid 60s tour, a few years back.

I was saddened to hear of his passing.
R.I.P.

R.I.P to Wayne Fontana

I've personally not heard his Music, but it's always a sad day when talent is lost.

Yes me too Mock as to acknowledging talents now lost.

Sixties music isn't everyone's cup of tea.
I just love it's easy on the ear, more commercial side of it.
So got into collecting as many of the artistes from the time as I can.

Great singalong recordings and often uplifting lyrics and melodies.
I actually think I'd have loved to have lived in the Sixties, it seemed a brighter time.

This guy had his moments and hit the top spot in the USA too with The Game of Love.
With his group the Mindbenders, of whom a member was Eric Stewart who co founded 10CC.

He died of cancer it's been reported.
