What are the Most Important Criteria When Booking a Hotel

what do you look for?

4 stars +?
Location?
Swimming Pool?
Balcony with Sea view?
Breakfast included?
24hr reception?
Cheap?
9+ Review Rating?

I hate spending time in cities so it doesn't make much difference how "nice" it is, not to me anyway :joker: how close it is to the train station or wherever the gig I'm seeing is helps.

Aircon and a good shower.

Other than that (and being clean) I'm not bothered... It's just a bed, I wouldn't be in a city to spend the time in the hotel .

Depends on what kind of trip you’re booking tbh.

City break = location

Week holiday in a hot country = rating, pool, features etc

...a room on a lower floor is the most important.../...I can’t do the height thing...

I'd always go for self-catering house/villa for a non-city break, personally.

I always check if they’ve got a swimming pool and breakfast included when I’m away with work

This, I never stay in hotels if I'm going on holiday-holiday and not just nipping to a city for a gig or theatre.

Yeah, this is usually my preference

UserSince2005 08-08-2020 11:41 AM

I think location is always most important to me, and then I weight up price vs review scores in that area to decide which to go with.

Pool and breakfast included can be a clincher.

Good reviews, spa, pool, bath in the room

Never get why people want a gym in a hotel really. Even if you are that desperate for exercise I'd rather go on a run and see a bit more of the local area

Breakfast is a big one for me as is location, otherwise I'm not that fussy as long as its clean. Hotel bar is always a plus as well

user104658 08-08-2020 12:52 PM

Again with breakfast if it's a city stay then a decent breakfast is nice, but if I was on a "proper holiday" I'd much rather get out early and explore for somewhere to eat rather than have a cookie-cutter hotel breakfast.

An extractor fan for my night night joint.

It really depends how long/what you are booking for.

I would def look for price/local to the area if it was abroad but also anything else I was interested in. It's all about your specifications I guess

Captain.Remy 08-08-2020 02:42 PM

When I'm away for work, then it's swimming pool, gym and breakfast. I need to go to the gym after working all day long somehwere else, then I go tour the city if I have time.

For holidays, room view, king size bed, location, good reviews. And it depends if it's a city break or not. I don't mind how much it costs if I found something I really like.
You don't always look for the same stuff in Costa Rica than in Japan.

Crimson Dynamo 08-08-2020 02:44 PM

what the breakfast is like, how clean it is and aircon
