Labour MP Dawn Butler accuses Metropolitan Police of racial profiling

Easy to do.

[she was the victim of racial profiling after the
car she was in was stopped by police.
The former shadow equalities minister filmed
the incident,
which happened in the London borough of Hackney
this afternoon.
Police officers stopped her "black male friend" who
was driving a "nice car" and questioned her
while she was in the passenger seat.]

It's bloody Hackney lol, of course there's gang and knife crime.

If she has been stopped multiple times, maybe she's a really bad driver?

She was'nt driving.

GiRTh 09-08-2020 05:07 PM

My bad, she was driving. The excuse was that the car was registered in North Yorkshire. Why were they checking the plates in the first place?

bots 09-08-2020 05:12 PM

police were caught playing games of snooker in the way they stopped cars, so nothing surprises me

Depends what they were investigating tbh  To try and claim she was racially profiled in Hackney of all places is bonkers :joker:

They weren't investigating anything. It was a random stop and search.

Random eh? So there really was no reason for her little tantrum.

Tantrum? She spoke to the officer and asked why she was stopped. Strange that you see a tantrum. Is she supposed to be happy that she's been stopped?

well done to the met police for stopping them. stop and search is much needed in that awful crime ridden area

i am sure the lady knew this and was helpful to the key workers doing their job?

arista 09-08-2020 05:36 PM

She was relaxed

Liam- 09-08-2020 05:36 PM

All those people who spout ‘god they’re just doing their job, just comply, don’t argue or question them!!’ Are likely the very same people who shout at parking attendants every time they get a ticket

Based on London-wide data from the last ten years, the report finds little evidence of impact of stop and search on violent crime and non-domestic violent crime. Similarly, the authors found no evidence for its impact on robbery, theft or criminal damages.
Much needed why? There are few studies that find it effective.

Ms Butler told Sky News she was "angry and annoyed" by the incident, claiming the Metropolitan Police has a "cancerous" problem with institutional racism.

She said: "We were stopped because we're two black people driving in a nice car in Hackney.

"I'm angry because I know it happens all the time every day. And people don't know why they've been stopped."

so she has no evidence

she is making a claim based on nothuing but her own hatred of police

what a despicable vile human being

oh she is an extreme left MP, colour me shocked

:bored:

its the poor police i feel sorry for
