Are those standalone aircon units actually any good? I'm tempted (for next year at this point, probably) to get one as I struggle to sleep in ANY sort of heat but I get the impression they would be crap :think:.

It was only 23 degrees-ish here yesterday, which is pretty nice and comfortable but still warm

I used to have one, I did set it for three hours before bedtime. Close the bedroom door and you should be fine. It saved my sleep for many summers.
Now we have full aircon in the house, it's obviously better. But a standalone aircon unit does good for a specific room.
